DSS = Digital Satellite Service

You need to either have a programmer or know someone with a programmer for the DirecTV HU cards. That's the most basic form. There are other ways, but those are the most common. DirecTV has begun a nationwide crackdown on those who steal the DirecTV signal and those who sell devices to unscramble those signals. It's a very hard time to get into it right now, especially seeing as how the P4 cards will be the new standard very soon.

In short -- it's not something that you can be able to do overnight. You need all the right elements.
