Stephen King
What is your favorite Stephen King book and why?
Mine would have to be the Green Mile. The story was very good and it was an awesome change of pace for one of my favorite authors. The character building was excelent.

Re: Stephen King
The Stand. Why? Its a brilliant read... There is no other reason - it has been done so well with the plot and characters.
Honourable mentions are: Firestarter, It, 'Salems Lot, The Bachman Books, The Dead Zone.
The book I most hated was easily insomnia or Bag of Bones - They were a bit too boring for my taste.

The Stand rocked, as did Kings team up with Straub for Black House.

Re: Stephen King
I have never read "The Green Mile", just saw the movie. It was great. And I know the the books are always better.
One of my favorites is Misery. Damn, it scared me!!!
Bachman books where good too. It was a great book too, crappy movie.
I have liked most of his books, he is such a great writer.

Re: Stephen King
Desperation was another great book by Stephen King - all his books are great as they are very deep in plot and character creation. He is truely one of the greatest authors in this world.

Re: Stephen King
Dark Tower... possibly the best books I've ever read. Books 5, 6, and 7 took me like 2 weeks (probably over 2000 pages)

Re: Stephen King
If you get Desperation, get Kings The Regulators aswell, they kinda work hand in hand
( itll be under Kings pseudo name Bachman.)
