OCALA – Ocala police officers arrested a man Sunday morning who they say pulled a knife on members of a church congregation who would not give him butter in the morning buffet.

Frankie Lewis, 48, wanted to get some butter in the buffet line at Four Square Church at 118 N.W. Tuscawilla Ave., police spokeswoman Sgt. Angy Scroble said. When he could not get any, he pulled a knife on members of the congregation and said he would cut them.

As he put the knife back in his pocket, a church member hit him with a wooden board, Scroble said. Lewis then fled on a bicycle where officers in the area quickly caught him.

Lewis was taken to the Marion County Jail and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

BONITA SPRINGS | A Bonita Springs man offered two cents to an undercover officer in exchange for sex.

The man was one of 10 arrested during an undercover prostitution sting in Bonita Springs Thursday night, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Members of the Bonita Springs Community Policing Unit and Lee County Sheriff’s Office Anti-Crime Unit assisted in the operation, the report said.

The focus of the operation was to locate males searching for female prostitutes that are soliciting money in exchange for sex, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Four of the arrests were made along Old US 41 and Rosemary, while the remaining six were made along Old US 41 and Crockett Street.

The men negotiated the price for intercourse ranging from the 2 cents offered by transient Fausino Hernandez-Diaz, 46, up to $300 offered by Arturo Preza, 25, of Bonita Springs.

I guess the first guy just didn't like margarine!

One of the guys I use to work with did something similar to the second guy. He got half hit in the ass at a bar not far from the companies Philadelphia office. On his way back going home there was a XXX movie house on one of the street corners. Seeing a girl standing on the corner he stopped and made some kind of stupid remark like how about a BJ for $5. Here she was an undercover cop. She didn't take it as a joke and he got arrested. He had to get his father in law to bail him out. He ended up with about a year of probation, a fine of about $500 and 6 months of HIV testing.

Just out of curiosity, is there ever a story where you don't have a comparable story about a friend or a USS somethingoranother?

Probably not. Of course you may fail to recognize that I was born in 1949 and you were born in 1979(per your profile). That's 30 more years of adult memories. I have a fairly good photographic memory. I can remember things as far back as when I was about two (I was sitting on the living room floor and my Dad was playing "Anchors Aweigh" on the record player and he started crying). The story I told was from 1986 or 1987. The guy was Irish, in his 30's, about 5'8", brown hair, going bald and wore fairly strong eyeglasses.

Heard this on the radio today. This case should get tossed. The defendant could reasonable argue that his offer of 2 cents was not a legitimate offer and was only made as a joke. I don't think that that $5 should have stood. The man involved must have pissed off the judge.

From what the guy told me, he was really giving the cop a lot of crap because he really thought she was a hooker. Hookers did frequent the location all the time. The city was on one of those crack down on johns to prevent the spread of HIV. I think he pleaded guilty so that it would be removed from his record if he did the HIV testing and stayed clean while on probation. I know he was trying to keep his old lady from finding out. He was a neighbor and friend of our supervisor. When he went for testing, he probobly had the story set up that he had to working over time. We were service techs and were on call 24/7.

Only 16.1% of PA population is Irish. Of course he could be Scotch-Irish, only 1.8% of PA population is Scotch-Irish. A lot of people that are scotch-Irish think they're Irish.
