Yep, so I met this one gal at a party I threw this last saturday. I'm not looking for anything serious, just something I can have fun w/ and mess around with. My only problem is that I've been out of the dating game too long, as in I've almost entirely forgotten things to do and/or not do to get the girl. My only crappy excuse for dropping the ball was massive scholastic activity after a nasty breakup...yep, to cope w/ the breakup I buried my nose in my books...Any advice would be greatly appreciated, especially as I seem to have lost my ability to read women, if such a feat can be accomplished in the first place Thanks!

Go and have some fucking fun. Talk to her if she is interesting, talk about yourself if not, have some drinks with her, dance, whatever. Try being honest with her. IF you aren't looking for anything serious then tell her that exactly. She will be more likely to give you a shot knowing that you aren't expecting anything out of it. Either because she's not looking for anything serious either OR because she is and it will be a challenge for her to change your mind.

If you can portray an auora of confidence she'll bite. Just tell her all you want is to hang out and have sex. Nothing serious...just friends with benifits. You tell her you'll make it worth her while...and prove it...and you'll be good to go.

I must remember that a very smart, experienced, and pretty girl reads a lot of this stuff.

It would crush me to think that some advice I offered up was total crap and only worked for me back in the day because I was dealing with a chick who had no self esteem or confidence or self worth.

Instead I'll continue to make myself believe it was masterful lines by me and a girl overcome by my handsome raw sexuality.

they're so right man, its all about practice... i started trying about 4 months ago at 100% effort levels, and i'm still barely getting to the point of being able to pull a date with a girl im interested in... shit gets hard when u get rejected alot, but then if you are able to realize your own mistakes and build/learn on them you will rebound back quickly. gl mate.

dude. girls are a crap shoot. i used the honest line in my 20's: just looking for fun and friendships, no serious relationships....and had a blast with a lot of willing girls who loved the visceral excitement but didn't want the ties.

but one girl: tall, gorgeous, blond with big natural boobs didn't take me up on it and I never heard from her again. I really wished I would have dressed sharp and talked seriously on that blind date. the one that got away....

anyway, until you have some rejections...and get over it, you'll aways show fear. woman HATE fear. they want confidence!

my buddy was VERY good at hooking up. they weren't all 7's or 8's. he was about quantity, not quality. he would say outright that success is a rate for/against rejects. he says expect to get rejected 8 times out of 10 when you are trying to chat up a girl, looking to take her home for some action. 8 times hurts! but you might be going home with one of the other two! and every reject teaches you something about your method. you got to learn. good luck, bro.

Confidence. Honestly thats probably the biggest thing. I used to be shy and kinda timid around chicks and I didnt do all that great. Then about 3 months ago I heard of, and read some of Tucker Max's stories (tuckermax.com for the stories), and learned that confidence and a bit of a cocky attitude work miracles. Dont come off as too cocky or arrogant, but just enough to tease her and show her that you are the dominant one (what the vast majority of women/girls look for in a guy). Be confident and dont be afraid to be shot down. Babe Ruth lead the MLB in home runs and strike outs almost every year he was in the league. Bet you knew he was up there in home runs, but didnt know about the strikeouts. Because no one pays attention to how many times you strike out, just how many times you knock it outta the park.
