Wow! I live in SC and had to find out via WR. I guess I should pay attention to my local news a little more! I found it ironic the "low level" state employee resigned over it.

With the state facing a budget deficit and many not traveling far for vacations due to the economy, should the state NOT want people with cash dollars to vacation here?? Bring your gay, straight, bisexual, lesbian, homosexual, metrosexual gluteus maximus here and spend your dollars. BTW, I can sell you a Confederate battle flag (made in China, no charge for added lead) as a souvenier.........

This state hates gays... I'm actually not surprised that he resigned (or was forced to).

However, it is a beautiful area if you can get past the narrow minded redneck people. On the flip side, a lot of people are moving to this state, so I think it's only a matter of time before the bible belt mentality and intolerance fade away.
