What is your point of view regarding her comment that she is proud of her country for the first time?

I think at worst was insensitive, was not proud before? or just because now she sees some benefits?

This is an example of wrong words can hurt.

If she had said "I have never been so proud, as an American, as I am now" it would be completely different. and yet, very similar meaning.

As far as Barack being upset they are picking on his wife, he better get used to it. It will get far worse.

I think she may be jumping the gun. We live in a country that is more concerned with gas prices than hunger, AIDS, poverty, and conflict. Maybe we should be proud when we can fill our governing bodies with people who can muster more than "change", "legal", and in the case of dubya "twinkies r good". I hate to digress but it's all relative.

Speaking of guns... did anybody catch Hilary's remark about staying in the race for quite a while longer due to Kennedy being assassinated before the election? What kind of logic is that? Hope Johnny doesn't die of old age before the election. She'll tie up the presidency in supreme court for a decade.

I can definately understand her statement......

The past two presidents have had made some very imbarrasing judgment calls....

Bush jr did not have the understanding of his role that his father did.... He put us in a war that lost all simpathy that the rest of the world had for us after 9-11 and lied to get us into a war....

Bill had his blow job that he lied about and opened trade with china, while pushing a global market adjenda that caused many hard working americans to loose their jobs to india and china.....

It may have been more accurate to say that she has not been proud of her government for some time, but if she really meant that she was not proud of her country, I could understand that too......

We can not even take enought time out of our day to demand a stop to a war that is devistating us..... Some or our parents skipped school or work to protest Vietnam and made real sacrifices to preserve our freedom..... We have done little to nothing, to stop this one......

Because I live in Kentucky and the state didn't vote for Obama I was called a racist by the media.Why do they call me a racist because Obama didn't carry the state,don't I have the right to vote for who I like without being a racist.Why is it that only white people can be a racist.Off the point here.

She also made a remark about not being able to live on $300,000+ a year,if she would call me I will tell her where she is wasting money.If there income is that much she should be proud of a country where you can make that much without doing much of nothing.

I hate to say it but I think we may see a lot more of that.

As for Obama's wife, I think it was a very insensitive remark. It wouldn't surprise me if we don't see more of that either.
