Vista HD prob. No biggie.

So I reformatted my hardrive with the same thing I had before--vista ultimate 64bit, and when I booted up Hp was finishing installing their software and I had to end it because it kept crashing and making me start over after a while, and I looked it up on hp...Apparantly a lot of people are having this problem and hp is saying it's the discs and most people have the same problem with new discs..Mine had never been opened, and it did this.

So anyways thats the backstory, but the problem is that my hard drive is only showing up as a 32gb hd, when is like a 160 or 180 or something like that. I don't know if it's the wrong drivers or what. It's showing up as the right model, but I don't know what I should do, and if it's because hp didn't finish installing their software, or just a normal problem. I'm still working on getting a clean vista ultimate disc, but both companies are making it confusing and hard. I had all my drivers saved, well at least the ones that drivermax saved, and I reinstalled all of those ones, and that didn't do anything.

Somebody help, what do you guys think I should do?

Thanks for any reply..

A.

If you know the name and model number of the hard drive I would go to the companies site get the reformat prog for it and completely reformat the drive and get a OS disk that isnt hp and install it.

Re: Vista HD prob. No biggie.

I swear to god I replied to this but maybe I just didn't post it. Ok, so I have contacted toshiba.Waiting for a reply from them, and I can't find any information on the hard drive.. Im thinking they don't keep older model drivers and stuff, or maybe you just have to dig for them.

So toshiba should have a specific program that they use for reformatting their HD's?

Do you have any idea what this could be, drivers or firmware? I just don't get it. Thanks for the help though..Once again haha.

You can always use the format option on the new disk when you get it if you cant get the information on the drive.
