Anyone interested in the war
I suggest you turn to C-Span right now (8:45pm, May, 03, 2008). Its a very interesting discussion about the legacy of Lincoln and in some cases the Iraqi War.

Re: Anyone interested in the war
Unfortunately I have no VCR or anything of the sort, sorry.
It was mostly about how Lincoln wasn't as great as he seemed yet still managed to pull it out of the jaws of awful. Then they compared Lincoln and Bush and how they've done a lot of the same things, yet how Lincoln managed to do it right, but Bush seems to have done it wrong. Then they went on about how Congress doesn't take enough flak for handing off their exclusive powers of declaring war to the President and they saying it wasn't their fault.

Re: Anyone interested in the war
I haven't seen the thing, but is it good? It just seems to me that it may not really...work to compare those two presidents. What may have worked in Lincoln's time wouldn't work now, as I imagine that back then the government may have had an easier time covering things up and there was just a different public attitude towards government.
Also, I have read that Lincoln was not the wonderful person he was mythologized to be. However, since many good things did come from his presidency that is how it turned out to be, while with Bush nothing good has come from his presidency.

How can you say that??? The country is seeing it's first Female candidate and it's first "African American" Candidate. All this is because the Dem's hate him so much.
Plus, there are a lot of good things that have happened, all just buried under the Iraq issues.
And yes, Congress never takes the Blame, they are too much of Pussies and all should be removed.
Vote in new Congress Member's along with the new President.

Re: Anyone interested in the war
when counrtys are young we tend to love our young presidents a hell of a lot more
we tend to be forgiving
but when things are old and stale we tend to be more critical
its the same in couples and long relationships
i think if the states had a complete overhaull of the system you would kind of have the same belated feeling we did when apparthied ended

I never hated Reagan. Dutch was one my top two Presidents of the 20th Century. Bonus point to anyone who guesses the other one.
