Re: linksys driver needed

i checked at a few places ...

linksys does not seem to offer the "install" software as a downloadable option .
a couple of archive sites have the pdf of the installation instructions and firmware updates .

heh , i would stay with linksys if possible , as far as joe-consumer routers and such .
i have had nothing but trouble with d-link (the name is rather apropos though) .
i have two of them sitting in the bone pile ... they went into the brick mode after a month of service . talking with d-link amounted to an exercise in futility .
it will be a cold day in hell before i ever buy/work on another of their POS-1's .

Re: linksys driver needed

cooolll ...
i'm glad the "new" comp is up and running . i run and tell customers to let new builds eat 24/7 for two weeks to get that "infant mortality" bit out of the road .
now , about that overclocking ... heh heh heh .

if you can't find the install disk for that linksys device you might think about getting a new one .

i picked up a WT54G (wireless router w/4 port switch) for a very reasonable price (at officemax no less !) . i coupled that to a EZXS55W 5 port 10/100 switch . they are capable of shifting the packet load where needed . this one is a straight 2.4 GHz but they do make units capable of working both bands . a possible reason for the low prices may be that they are starting to produce more stuff capable of dual band 10/100/1000 operations ... phasing out the old stuff .
that gives me 8 switch ports and the wireless side for my work comp , customer machines , the other home comp and printer/peripheral sharing .
i can easily expand the number of ports available by simply adding another and/or bigger workgroup switch . i may need to do this in the future in order to improve the comp situation in the living room when i get done tearing it a new one !

ps ... the fact that your machine is up and running is thanks enough .
