Trouble Cumming
For some reason I've been having trouble cumming for the past two weeks. Two weeks ago I started taking anti-depressant medication along the same time my boyfriend starting touching me. I can get really close, but for some reason I can't orgasm. Even when I'm touching myself I've seem to hit a wall and I can't peak. Anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Trouble Cumming
Some medications affect your hormones. My fiancee started taking a new allergy medicine, and for a while we didn't do ANYTHING because she just wasn't in the mood. Check with your doctor, sometimes they know about these things.

Re: Trouble Cumming
go see and tell your doctor, maybe he'll give you a different brand of anti-depressant medication.

Re: Trouble Cumming
"Sometimes they [doctors] know about these things." Oh, man...
All you have to do is read the documentation that comes with these drugs; the side-effects list is truly frightening. Bottom line is get off those anti-depressants as fast as you possibly can. The side-effects are not worth the benefits, one of which you've already noticed.

Re: Trouble Cumming
christ, that happened to me on anti-depressants. four hour erections don't happen with just boner pills, trust me. anyhoo, it won't get better as long as you're on those particular meds. get your doctor to switch you over to something else- sexual side effects are common with pills like that, so be patient- it might take you a while before you find one that both treats your depression and allows you to orgasm.
good luck, hope it all works out for you.

Re: Trouble Cumming
Ok... the pharmacy student is interested now. What medication did he start you on? Have you tried any other anti-depressants before this one?

Re: Trouble Cumming
Citalopram at 20 mg and it's my first time on anti-depressants. I've been taking it for about two and a half weeks - the first week only being half a tablet per day. Thing is guys, this was prescribed to me by a psychologist that visits my college once a month. I really don't want to get off my medication, because it's helping me sort out my life. I am also experiencing the side effect of being constantly, overwhelmingly tired. It's quite a pain in the ass, especially with finals coming up, but I guess I should bring it up to my psychologist? *sigh* Dear god, this is gunna suck. I'm such a private person - I hate talking to people about these things.

Re: Trouble Cumming
My wife was on Citalopram and Wellbutrin, talk about difficulties...this just happens to be a bad side effect of antidpressants, if you can possibly go without, do it. The sexual side effect just doesn't go away...

Re: Trouble Cumming
I would definitely bring it up with the Dr. The problem with side effects is that you never know which ones you'll experience. He may put you on a different med that has the same reported effect and you might not experience it. Definitely don't just stop taking it. Even though you've only been on it a short time, anti-depressants need to be tapered off. I wouldn't stop it until you talk to the Dr first. And make sure he knows about other meds you're on (like the BC).
