Your HDD is full and you don't want to delete the pix, here is the answer...

hiho dudes,

this is not a set, but i don't know where i can post it, perhabs the mods must move it.

Who doesn't know it, your HDD is full, you must get free space, but you don't wan't to delete any pics. Most of the actually sets are very huge, up to 70 or 80 MB with a resolution up to 5000 pixels. But who need it?? Who have a TFT which can this resolution?? no-one! The TFT which can this doesn't exist. OK so you have the pic with the high resolution with a jpeg size of 2-3 MB per piece. So what can you do?? Right you must make it smaller. One way is open file per file and change the resolution with a graphic programm. The other way for Windows User is to use the Image Reziser Tool. With this tool you can rezise the pictures automatically within seconds or minutes for large sets. The Tool is very small, only 530 KB. Install it, then select the files, right mouse button and select "Rezise Pictures". Then opend the follow screen:

Press Advanced Button and change the resolution in "Custom", i take 1600 x 1200 thats enough for a Computer TFT, i think, but it's on you.

Then press OK and let the tool work. When you didn't have check the box "Replace the original files" you will find the same files with the attempt "(Custom)" in your folder, but with the smaller size, a example: Original File: 3000 x 5000 pixels (2,4 MB) the rezised file: 1600 x 1200: 0,187 MB, save over 90% HDD Space. For a set with 100 pics: Original has 250 MB, the resized set has only 19 MB!! Save 230 MB without delete any file! After this and if you think the rezised set is ok, you can delete the original files.

[SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS!!]
- Operating System supports: Windows 2000 SP4, Windows XP SP2, Windows Server 2003 SP1, Windows Vista, Windows 2008
- min. CPU with 1 GHz
- min. 256 MB RAM

Tool Link: !! Rezise Picture Tool only for MS Windows !!

I have saved with this tool over 15 GB up today without delete any file and i have not finshed.

I hope it helps you too

Greetz
