There is this chick in my Microbiology class that I have a pretty big crush on. The first day of class I unintentionally sat down next to her in an empty seat, noticed that she was kind of cute and expected that she wouldn't initate conversation with me. However, after a couple seconds she starts talking (I forget about what) to me and we chat until class starts.

The next day we had lab and was pretty stoked that she might end up being my lab partner. I show up to class a little early to hopefully find a seat next to her. When she entered the room I noticed that she was with this guy (who obviously wanted to be her lab partner too.) I was a little bummed, but my spirits rose again when she sat down next to me and ushered for the guy to go around the other side of the table. I was pretty stoked, and we've been talking a during class/lab every weekday for the past 2.5 weeks (Micro is a 5hr class, I have it every day)

Up to this point I haven't led her on like I want to be anything more than just friends. I have been flirting with her, but I haven't asked for her number or asked her on a date yet. I think that she is at least moderately interested in me. I've noticed that she leans a little towards me during class, and doesn't move away when I brush up against her.

On to where I need help. She always bails out of class really quick. I know that its her last class of the day, and I know that sometimes she has to go because she car-pools. The only time she really ever hangs around and slows down is if I leave class with her, then we will talk to each other on the way to our cars. The thing that really disturbs me is that during lab today we were working on a partners project that required both of our names on it. She was writing them down and she asks me, "What's your name again?" She looked a little embarassed. But the thing that gets me is that although we never really had a formal introduction, I had no problem learning her name. I would think that if she even had moderate interest in me then she would have learned my name by now also.

What I'm wondering is if anyone thinks, from what I have said, that she has interest in me or not. Normally I wouldn't care, but if I go and make things awkward by asking her to lunch/dinner/coffee it could be a distaster. She has to be my lab partner until May and I have to see her every weekday until then. I have no problem just waiting it out and seeing where it might lead, but someone elses oppion/thoughts on the matter might better help me better understand before I goof and make an ass of myself. Am I just freaking out over something little or is this cause for concern?

If you snooze, you will lose. So what if she didn't remember your name? Hell, maybe she would if you'd get her number and give her a call! If she's leaning into you, she's comfortable enough to get close; it's now up to you to make the next move. Trust me, she will not wait forever (I've gotta many stories about waiting too long....)
