Thank god, Bush is helping with oil prices...
As Bush gears up to leave office, leaving us such gifts as the Real ID act, he gives us more help....
In an effort to curb oil prices, Bush delivers a 20 Billion dollar military package to the Saudi Royal Family, so they will make more oil avalible to the world market.....
Couple of problems though.....
Acording to Matthew Simmons, member of the dick cheney energy tast force, Saudi Arabia has no spare pumping capacity....... Hmmmm...
Next problem.... Saudi Arabia provided 75 percent of the human resources linked to the 9-11 tragity......
Next problem... Iran and Saudi Arabia are allies.....
Next problem.... Saudi Arabia is a monarchy that suppresses its citizens with military force.... I thought we were spreading freedom and democracy in the middle east....
Perspective.... 20 billion, that can't be that much.... BUT that is almost twice what north korea spends anually on millitary....... And it is 4% of our millitary spending.... Every country we are fighting, or have fought in the middle east, was previously armed by us..... When will we learn....

Thank God for President Bush! I mean, how else would we show up-and-coming Presidents what NOT to do while in office!
Funny thing about Bush that I think needs to be said. Republicans blamed the high gas prices on the oil refinery that was destroyed by Katrina. They said that it's destruction was why oil prices went past $3.00 a gallon. Ok, fair enough. I'll humor that idea for a little bit. Now what happens when Bush gives Saudi Arabia $20 billion to increase production or distribution? Shouldn't this not matter since the higher prices aren't due to the delivery of oil, but rather, the refining of it here in America? And why would Bush deregulate the oil companies years ago to the point of them posting record profits of all time, any company, in the history of the world? (in fact, over and over again)
Call me a naive Liberal, but someone is going to have to get their stories straight, since it appears to me to be some giant ass raping of the American public.
Oh, and you will also notice that I didn't touch on the Saudi Arabia links to 9-11 and Iran... I've been saying for a long time that we as a country fail in middle east policy since we look for the short term fix and ignore the long term ramifications. The shit that will result I just blame on a failed leadership.

Re: Thank god, Bush is helping with oil prices...
Nothing spells economic recovery like pumping billions of our money, which we paid in taxes, to the same people who are accountable for causing the destruction (economic and otherwise) in the first place right?
Shoot, why stop at a measly 20 bil bribe? How about first-born sons, too? I mean, the more we bribe our real enemies, the more they'll respect us and help us!
And, best of all, we still won't have to realize there's a war going on, and make sacrifices accordingly! Life's great with no accountability!

I can't wait until the democrats get into office next year....and do the same things this guy is doing. Even the Republicans think this guy is liberal, so which way do you want it?

I wouldn't count on the Democrats taking office this year (though they apparently are).
With the POS candidates they've trotted out so far, even I may be voting Republican this time around.
Or at the very least, vote my Libertarian party line and help kill the election for the Dems.

I dont think any of them have the right tools to fix what the past 4-5 presidents have done to our country. I am not voting for any of them.

Wonder why there's not a good candidate for president?
I bet no one who would be appealing wants to clean up the Bush dynasty mess.

I think the bigger problem is that the hard-left-wing faction of the party took power years ago and never gave it up.
The result is lame duck candidates who are experts at taking taxpayers' hard-earned money and deciding that it's actually the government's money, when people are over taxed as it is. Plus they tend to be out-of-touch with real people out there beyond the beltway, and far-left enclaves of New York and California.

Well we are still not taxed as much as some European countries...
Or are we? hmm seems 1/3 of my pay is taken, then almost everything I buy has a sales tax. then there are those surcharges on my utility, And phone bills. not to mention my cell phone bill has city school taxes, And county taxes now..
At least in Finland the government gives you a detailed report on every penny they spend.. And no $10,000 hammers. thens there's the free health care.. hmm..

Re: Thank god, Bush is helping with oil prices...
No matter what, WE NEED OIL!!!
there is no way to spin it.
The US is saving what we have here in America so when all the oil dries up or we go to war with one of these oil rich counties we still have oil left.

We don’t "NEED" oil at all. We NEED oxygen, water, food and sleep. Everything else is a luxury that we have become addicted to. The technology is available to get us off the oil kick, but our administration has to many oil companies paying for their beach houses, cars...ect. If we spent even half of what has been spent on wars for oil, and mass produce non-oil technologies, we could be off oil completely in 1-2 years.
We don’t have nearly enough oil in the US to be able to sustain our usage right now. The government would seize the oil fields and stockpile it all to use for military and federal/state organizations. Oh, and for their corporate jets and helo's.
