Internet connection confusion
I have 2 places where i connect to the internet. When I am logged onto the internet with 1 modem, the other one always wants to connect every time i load a new browser page.
Can I do anything else apart from delete the internet connection that I am not using?
It doesn't make any difference which one is set up as the default.

Re: Internet connection confusion
I can get a wireless connection to the internet when I am at work and I also have my own wireless modem which plugs into my computer via a USB port.
In order to save on my download limit, when I am at work I usually use the work internet connection (I get an icon called Internet Gateway). But, everytime I load a new page, when I am connected to the work connection, the computer pops the window for me to connect to my own modem (even tho' it is not plugged in). To prevent this I have to delete my modem connection on the internet connections page.
I was wondering a) why this happens and b) is there a setting somewhere to prevent this from happening?
Also if I plug my modem in at work, because the work connection is slow, my pc shows that I have 2 internet connections at the same time. What will be happening here? Will my pc really be getting information packets from two ISPs at the same time?

Re: Internet connection confusion
hmmm ...
you might go into IE then tools > internet options > connections , then select "dial whenever a network connection is not present" , click on apply and close the windows .
this should stop the pop up window asking to dial out when your wireless connection is available .
