I like DVD shrink -- http://www.dvdshrink.org/ to rip and if you have nero it will burn them for you if you want.

I've just started using DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink (both free), and I find that they're both good for different things.

DVD Decrypter is good for ripping single layer DVDs that you may want to burn onto other single layer DVD media. The same goes for dual layer to dual layer, if you have a dual layer burner.

DVD Shrink is good for ripping dual layer DVDs to put onto single layer DVD media. With DVD Shrink you can cut out the menus, extras, audio channels, and subtitles you may not want. For example, I just took my Priates of the Carribean, which is a dual layer disc, and cut out everything except for the movie (i even cut out the credits!) and was able to burn it to a standard single layer DVD w/o much loss in quality.

DVDShrink is great for anything involving CSS encryption. I've been using it for quite a while and watched it evolve over the past versions. The new one with automatic burning almost makes it too easy!

I use CopytoDVD and DVDecryptor. Both work fine. I havent made any coasters with them yet.
