OK, well I just got out of the longest relationship I have ever been in and things have been very hard for me. Occasionally, I think that my life's over, I'll never find anyone as good as her, and I will die alone. Maybe a little overdramatic but I am in a very vulnerable and pessimistic state of mind.

I go to Syracuse University and have been a very shy individual and have trouble meeting people. She was a very beautiful girl and I thought she was out of my league and she talked about getting married, spending the rest of her life with me and such. Although, she thought I was the one who was out of her league and she made the first move and told me she's the one who liked me.

I guess i'm scared that I will be alone because I have never been good with girls and have trouble stirring up conversations and walking up to girls and it's tough for me to get into the whole dating scene. I've only had 2 girlfriends and I don't have many friends here, so I'm scared that I'm gonna live my life alone.

Refer to the thread the grandam dude posted. A lot of us have been there. Trust me when I say this is a blessing in disguise. You are in college. There is a wide range of girls out there that will love to hang with you and give you what this girl couldn't.

It sucks when the girl that leaves you is particularly hot, cuz you will FOREVER be comparing them to the next. So my advice is...find someone you can talk to and have fun with...then find another...then another...then another....until this one kind of fades.

Nothing helps you get over a pretty face, like another pretty face.

Besides that, don't get into any more serious relationships. You got the time AFTER college to go fuck your life up and get serious/married.

I didn't really come out of my shell until I was ~23 which should tell you A LOT if you read some of my other posts around here.

I was also pretty shy and had trouble meeting people. College fixed that RIGHT up.

You need to go to the bookstore and buy a copy of a book written by Tucker Max called "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell"........you don't want to end up being like his friend SlingBlade...

The book is by far one of the funniest books you'll ever read....most vile and disgusting books at times...but by far a hilarious tale of real life adventures this guy had while in college and throughout the early years of his adult life.

It'll make you feel better about yourself and where you are at now.

I've been there and I've survived and I'm doing rather well for myself with an amazing wife.

I spent my entire college career locked into one girl...a year out of college we got married...two months later I found out that she'd been cheating on me for a long time with one of my friends.....she got thrown out.....he got his ass beat...which I shouldn't have done...I shoulda just shook his hand, thanked him, and walked away...but at the time I wasn't realizing that he'd just saved my life...better early in life than later on when you've got kids, a house, and all that other stuff.

Be glad that it happened to you now. You have an entire life ahead of you and your history is yours to write. Your life will be what you make of it....so make the most of it. Rather it be one filled with debauchery and many things you'll regret or one where you find the next right girl and settle down for the fairy tale.

The best thing to do is go on get it out of your head. If she knows your talking to other women or hell just fake it, theres about a 95% chance she will come back around. Ive had mine calling me all day because im done with her and she knows it. Now that theres a challenge she wants me back...when i was crying to her she didn't want shit to do with me. Now its her turn to sob and she can keep sobbing I dont give a damn because i know theres greener grass. Girls heads work a little different than ours, I still havent figured it out. Don't call her let her call you..and she probably will.

That is if you want her back. If your relationship was good try it again, if it was bad cut your losses now dude... I learned the hard way that I should have done that a long fucking time ago it only gets worse.

LIke they said your 18 you got a long ways to go, im not one to talk about friends because i ditched mine to hang out with my ex and i dont have shit for friends anymore either, but you got a long time to make friends its not the end of the road. Go out to a party and meet people... you meet just one friend your doing great, they invite you to meet their friends and next thing you know you know a shitload of people.

Do what Grandam told you to....DONT talk to her...she'll only get you goin on a guilt trip or try to convince you she wants you back...be glad in whats happend! she has shown you her true colors! I can't say I know exactly what your going through, but I've had similar experiences...Something that really helps is getting involved on campus...you'll meet alot of new girls there...plus it also gets you away from thinking about her cuz you'll be so busy and it also gives you an excuse if she ever does manage to talk to you of you sayin "oh hey, sry, im busy forever because the organization/frat that im in is doing blah blah blah"...just try to get involved...

thats her trying to fuck w/ ur mind...dont let her! if you have to poke out your eardrums and gouge out your eyes (don't really do that...i hear its quite painful) to keep from hearing/seeing her talk and do random crap to mess w/ ur head
