Its a good machine... but when you say "multimedia" what exactly are you refering to? Video editing? Sound editing?

If you got that machine, I'd upgrade the ram to atleast 1 gig. The video card could be upgraded too if you intend to play games. That processor, hard drive and DVDrw would work just fine. If you do sound editing, you might want a better sound card. Other than that, its a good system.
