Network internet access

I have 2PCs linked on the same workgroup by an adhoc wireless connection. The host computer is plugged into a modem which wirelessly allows access to the internet.

The client can ping the gateway IP (192.168.0.1) and the variable IP of the wireless modem, but it can't connect to the internet. The client can also trigger the modem to dial and has a gateway which correctly identifies the modem.

I have a laptop which can access the internet through this same host PC but I just cant get it to happen with the PC. I am tearing my hair out... Can anyone help?

Re: Network internet access

Hello, If you have a workgroup connection fine, but you still need to run the internet connection wizard.

Also log in to your router and check your firewall is not blocking access, by ensuring you have the correct IP range listed.

Re: Network internet access

Can you ping any servers not on your network with the one that cant connect to the Internet?
Also as Sechi suggests logon to your router but also check it's not locked down by MAC and see if you have any NAT routes setup.
