a new question about piercings?
okay, here's my question for the WR experts who have body piercings.
now that homeland security is upgrading the metal detectors at airports, what happens when they wand you over? especially, when it lights up in the genital area!!!
do they pull you aside and ask you to strip so that they can check it out?
or maybe its just an excuse for them to gawk :(

Re: a new question about piercings?
I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure that that metal won't be detected. It's a relatively insignificant amount of metal compared with what they're really looking for: firearms and knifes.
So, if you're planning on traveling and you have a little metal luggage down there that you don't want checked, I think you'll be ok.

hmmm, are you sure about that? The gizmos that they use today are supposedly so much more sensitive than the older stuff.
Anybody else have experience in that regard.
fwiw, i haven't had it done yet, but for some crazy reason it sure does appeal to me

Nahh...they're similar to the metal rivets on jeans. Under the radar. Even metal belt buckles often do not set off the machine.

Re: a new question about piercings?
I've never had a problem with my piercings... and I've spent a lot of time in airports.

Re: a new question about piercings?
well Irish.. just to be safe, make sure you go in line where you see guards you like? *just teasin* I had some piercings in airports before and never had a problem... I thought it was strange back when people got on airplanes with box cutters and yet I know more than one person that has been stopped for having a vibrator in a purse... so who knows, maybe some day they will detect piercings
