Is there a specified place where this should go?


Aw, well... first, I'd like to suggest that there be an inside or embed link in the banner of Webrats. It gets hard re-directing back to the main page of Webrats when you have to stuggle to click that tiny 'WR' link.

also, on the issue of re-loading, I've experienced that Webrats does not automatically refresh when you visit again. Say you visit BOTH at 10pm and check it out for a while, then retire. The next morning, it does not show updates, but what was last posted there when you last left. I have to do an F5 refresh everytime I enter into any forum here because of it.


I'm sure that many are aware of these issues, I just thought to voice them if not previousy addressed. I'd be glad to hear the mods and senior members thoughts on my recommendations(good, bad, been offered before, cannot be fufilled for such and such reasons).

the banner one i dont think is a bad idea. i never really noticed that about the refresh but ill keep an eye out for it. when a super comes by they may have a better answer. if they dont ill throw it in the mod forum for a review by eddie

I'm not sure why you think the banner is a bad idea.
It would make re-direction back to the main page much easier, and a refresh of all forums to boot(at least that is what is supposed to happen).
I look forward to the responses, though.

nothing to say about the banner link .

i run FF and IE ... no refresh problems .
with FF , if i sit idle on a page for some time (half hour or so ?) and bounce back to the main/forum page it will remove the bold lettering and make it look like i have already viewed all the topics/posts .
from what i understand , IE takes precedence over FF as far as the "make it work" stuff goes .

If you install the Yahoo toolbar, you can create a custom button to WR!


If your using IE check Internet options/General/Browsing History/Settings/Temporary Internet Files/Check for newer versions of stored page:
Make sure Never button isn't clicked!

Actually I moved it to get more views in here. (not a big deal) He said the banner was not a bad idea. Only thing is though is that the coding has to be tweaked a bit.

I like the banner idea, however I don't think that it is bad the way it is so I am pretty indifferent. On the refreshing problem, I use FF and I've never had problems with it not showing updates.

yeah, I don't have any refresh problems in FF either.

As for the banner idea, I like it, but I don't see it. either because it's blocked by AdBlock Plus, or because of how I have colours set in FF.

If you use FF, you can make a bookmark in the bookmark toolbar folder. after a while, the bookmark gets a little icon of the site. then you can delete the text, and just have a tiny little icon button. good for when you want to have allot of them, like me.
