I'm sure everyone goes through what I am right now, but I thought I'd voice it....:

I work, I sleep, I work, I sleep, I work.... you get it. What the fuck? It's like, how the fuck can people do this without getting burned out every few weeks? I wake up, I walk my dog, I go to work, I come home, I walk my dog, I get on WR, I go to sleep. How fucking repetative does life need to be? That and, I make alright money, but it seems that all my money is always gone when I get my paycheck, which propagates the circular repetition. How the fuck does everyone else deal with it?

I sometimes know that it's my own fault for being a workaholic, working sometimes 75+ hours a week, but honestly, where does it end?

Sorry y'all, I'm just venting.

I've been there, I finally just sucked it up and had a broke year with nothing but school and kid, with a part time job for the extras. Now I work about 15 hours a week and make as much as I did at my last job with 40 hours a week (which I never got). Now I have 3 free days and 4 little 3-4 hours shifts at my job. The people that I work with are like family. I'm loving life now.

It will get better Jimi, I know that it will. You work hard enough at it, you are planting your crops now, just give it time.... they will grow.

There's light at the end of the tunnel man I'm sure. You won't be doing it forever and the harder you work now, the more it will pay off later.

I don't remember exactly what you're doing, but I'm pretty sure it's a doctor thing. I'm sure by tomorrow you'll feel good again about what you're doing.

Re: Feeling empty.

Little things can keep you sane. Throw the dog in the car and take your walk somewhere new. Or...pack a little bit of grub and walk the dog to a park...sit down...and, watch other peoples' lives for a little bit. Or...grab a friend (male, female, romantic, or not...) and treat them to lunch or dinner at a new place. Leave your computer off for 24 hours. Go to bed early and wake up early...go for an extra long walk with the pooch with the extra time.

IOW...go look at some different wallpaper for a little bit...even if it's just an hour or two here and there. When you just can't stand your routine, change it.

Oh...don't forget to go on vacation every so often...which, means different things to different people. When I was single, I liked to take a day here and a day there...I'd go for a long motorcycle ride just to have a day to myself. Now that I'm not single, it tends to mean getting the hell out of town for a few days or a week. In fact, I'm heading from Portland, OR to my parents' house in Central PA later today...that's going to be my change of wallpaper for the time being.

Re: Feeling empty.

After I posted this, I went on a 3 day camping trip. I called in sick two of the days, but whatever, I've never called in sick here before. Now, I'm all refreshed. Thanks for the comments.

Re: Feeling empty.

I was about to say that I'm in the same boat...but I see you took your break.
I was in a car wrack that didn't leave me with the legs and stamina that I needed to continue running a high output kitchen...I got a fair settlement and paid for a good education for my girlfriend......now I'm 32 and a reluctant retiree that totally feels the burnout of the "happy housewife"...baaahh...I won't take pills and I don't drink alcahol, just a little green to take the edge off when it's bad....we're not breeders but we have a couple dogs that keep me company.

...I was getting really burnt out with the same ol same ol and saw myself spiraling into a depression....so I completely changed my routine....now that's following the same path.....I need some kind of structure before I become a shut-in...

..I plan on enrolling at the local communit college but all of my interests were in jobs that my body can't handle now....I can't stand to sit still man.....I'll figure something out....

...when your at rock bottom, at least you know which way is up.
