What is the difference
What is the difference of not being circumcised until you are around 1-2 years to when you are born

Re: What is the difference
nothing really.
physically, circumcision will just benefit you hygienically, but the process won't make yours longer or wider.
its just that if you're born in a country that embraces the tradition, then the younger you get circumcise the better. if you're in a place where people all over are not circumcised, then it wouldn't matter.

this has been covered elsewhere I'm sure......hygienically no difference unless you just didn't ever have access to water and wash yourself, the whole system is self cleansing in terms of secretions of smegma etc unless you became infected or whatever then it would be rank.
It became common practice in countries where water was scarse...the desert and so forth, and also because sand under the foreskin is a painful experience, although no different in my estimation than having to deal with some little girl that has got sand in her vulva and up her vagina at the beach.....a pretty common demise, seldom commented on, and dealt discreetly with by Mothers the world over (and generally not resulting in women having their labia cut off for hygiene reasons!!...or cultural reasons)
Seldom carried out by doctors these days except on the parent's insistence...except for medical reasons such as stricture, phimosis etc and amounts to painful ritual mutilation of the genitals for social and cultural reasons.
Later circumcision really only makes the process more traumatic for the young child. In the teens without anaesthetic, as a rite of passage in some cultures, can be just horrendous...taking weeks to recover from. An acquaintance, who had his removed after an accident as a linesman involving battery acid in a transformer which caused thickening and contracture of the foreskin, took three weeks in severe pain to recover.

Re: What is the difference
A one to two year old will know it hurts. A newborn, while feeling the pain, will not remember it as much. Likely a 2 year old will forget about it as well. Talk to a doctor about it.

The body has got a huge amount of growing to do before it gets to full size.....starting from zero cf starting from 2 years would make no difference to the skin appearance.......remember it's skin missing you are talking about...having seen thousands I reckon they just look a bit sad and vunerable without the protection of their foreskins......IMO

Re: What is the difference
Jeff hit it on the head. Pain!!! A newborn will not "play" with it and therefore it will heal quite rapidly. On the other hand, a 1-2 yr old will be touching it or grabbing it to try and releive any discomfort he may have.
