Too much foreplay?

Well today me and my girl were fooling around for upwards of four hours, the majority of which had an erection. However, when it came time to do the actual deed, i couldn't get an erection. This has never been a problem before, is it possible that I..."wore out"... the erection? (This was the first time have so long of a duration of foreplay)
