Ok guys, I am a little embarrassed by this but saw a thread on this a while ago and thought ya'll could help me. My girlfriend and I have been going out for a little while and getting pretty serious. I want to make sure that the first time I have sex with her that everything goes smoothly. So now to my question. I know the trend is for alot of people to shave below the equator. Any tips or tricks on how to do it without knicking yourself? Anything to prevent itching afterwards? Thank you very much in advance for your replies.

sorry im marryed and the most i have ever done is a slight trim of my pubic hairs
my wife has shaved but i dont think its a boys thing
when you have good sex there will be plenty juces flowing and 2 shaved arias rubbing together with a sticky substance such as what comes from a ladys vagina will cause some serious rashes
of that i have no doubt
but i suppose trends are something that is fashionable and doesnt neccicerly need to be the most comfortable or functionable of things

i wouldnt shave to the bone, as that can be itchy as hell, and you'll be left looking like youve got the last chicken in the butchers between your legs. but if you can get a hold of some hair clippers you can get some pretty neat results, use the shortest guard on it though as nicking your sack with those things doesnt half smart. leave about a quarter of an inch up top and get as many of those straggly ones off from down round the sack. she'll much prefer sticking that in her mouth!

dude, don't pay attention to the douchebag reply up there, shave your shit...your girl WILL appreciate it, trust me. The trick is having a steady hand, patience, and lots of hot water. But that's just for the scrote. The rest of it, just take a beard trimmer to with either no guard on it, or the lowest setting it will go. Plus it just feels much better. Make sure to keep up with it though, because it will get itchy as a motherfucker when the hair starts to grow back.

I shave my shit, and Im rather positive that Im not gay...the wimmenz do like it a lot, seriously. I get more and better head because of it.

I don't think it's so much of a trend as what you (and your girl) prefer. Personally, I like it when my guy shaves, then I don't end up with stray hairs in my mouth while I'm giving him head. Also I've always liked the feeling of nice smooth skin (I mean who doesn't?), and if it's something I'm going to be playing with, might as well have it as I like it right?

girls love it when not so much hair is messing around (while giving head). just don't get too nervous about her making comments whether she likes it shaved or not, some prefer it while for others its ok if its not shaved. i also believe its not a "gay" thing, i shave coz it feels good (not the shaving part) but i also agree that it itches like hell when it starts to grow. i don't know of any product that reduces itchiness once those pubic grows. just trim it if you're not planning of getting it bald. then ask her, if she likes it or not, she'll give you an idea.

i use hair clippers with adjustable setings. 2 for the bush, and straight clippers for the scrote. be careful! my girlfriend is more hesitant to go down on me if i'm not trimmed.

Well, all i can say mate is: i shaved once, it hurt and itched like hell the next morning. End of in my opinion. If your gonna keep shaving it then do it, but if theres a chance you might forget one morning, it will itch like hell. It's not comfy man. Not at all...

I really think it depends on how hairy you are. If you have a lot of growth and things are not even identifiable, you might want to trim it a little bit. Otherwise leave it be. A first encounter is amazing in itself, no one is going to be critiquing your hairstyle. Relax and enjoy...plenty of time to experiment in the years to come.
