Hey I just read Chrissy Moran converted to Christianity and is quitting porn. ( I won't post where from because I'm not trying to link any sites, google it if you want the source.)

Any thoughts on this? I guess she really wants out of the industry and is scared to shutdown her website. I hear its a hard job to quit, lots of pressure and contracts. How many women do you think are trapped in the biz?

Honest question, not ripping on anything/anyone here.

I agree-18 (hopefully) year old girl gets to L.A., NYC, Miami, etc. Signs a contract that she may not understand fully, makes more money for one day's work than she's ever seen, etc.

Certainly not the only scenario to this, but is probably more common than not, probably the same for guys in the biz too. More youth/inexperience in real life than anything else.

Kinda sad, but they are the ones who made the decision. Just my .02.

Agreed, she was great. If she wants out then I hope the transition is smooth for her.

I agree, I hope it works for her. If it doesn't it could get worse for her.

Many of these women where abused when yougner and find it easy to get accepted and admired. Not to mentiont he good money. That has to be hard to turn away from.

No doubt. I've been following this a bit because it really piqued my curiosity. Apparently she's been talking a lot to Shelley Lubben, another ex-pornstar turned Christian (she went by Roxy I think). But you hit the nail on the head about Crissy and a lot of these girls. Here's a quote from Crissy about her conversion:

"I am very happy about it and know that God wants to use me in big ways. I have been suicidal since my early 20's. I have been abused. I have been exposed to so much evil and have survived and am ready to hand all that I am over to the Lord to do with me as he wishes. "

Pretty powerful IMO. I'm pulling for her to make it out.

She said on her myspace that she is down to only 1.5 months in her savings. She is looking for a normal job currently. I wonder if she's still making money on her website, or if some slimeball is milking it in place of her.

I'm sure the adult industry is full of sleeze and it could break anyone. If this is what she needs to full achieve peace and balance in her life then I say go for it. I've seen other boards rip her for going Christian, but it's her life and her decision and I hope things will get better for her.

I would marry her (provided the Hepatitis and HIV screen were negative) and provide a very comfortable life style that would take care of all her worries.

I don't really think women are trapped. Unless you are under a contract you could leave at any time. It would probably be difficult because of the change in money, but if you really hated it you could leave.

No smart ass replies in the EOTH!!! Actually, I'm surprised this thread has even lasted as long as it has here. Personally feel this should been in the BOTH, but whatever. If she really has found a devout reason for her existence outside of the porn industry, then I hope her new-found faith will see her through. I would say the world is tough and it will chew you up and spit you out, so be careful. However, I'm sure her previous lifestyle has already taught her that valuable lesson. Sorry juan. Didn't mean to say this thread doesn't have validity, I felt it may have been more appropriate in one of the other forums. The main thing I was pissed off at was the reply by lanthanide. But when you read past the first three sentences of my post, I tried to add another perspective to the actual thread topic. Sorry about the way I handled lanthanide's post.

I wish her well. Recent photo's I've seen of Jade Hsu show what the biz can do to a person. However, my first thought on hearing about this was that maybe now I have a shot... ahh, but who am I kidding.
