Im hurt, Im distraught, Im a total mess. If you read my last post, we were having problems and this morning was the end of it. How do you deal with break ups?????

I just broke up with the only girl i ever loved a few weeks ago, actually she broke up with me, i had it coming though. I needed some time for me to get over her and get ready to go out again, that lasted about a week, time where i just staid home plaid play station, watched movies, surfed, smoked (a fukin lot of weed) and no drinking (that was weird). After that week i went out again, went to parties, to clubs and i still think about her a little but i know its over for good, so when i start thinking about her i inmediatly think of something else or go out to do something or call someone, so i guess the best way to get over someone is keeping yourself busy but with shit you like to do. Ive heard that the best way is to hook up with another girl, perhaps this is correct but it aint right, out of respect for your relationship with her you can go out the next days looking to hook up with random girls cause that is just plain wrong and disrespectfull its like saying that you didnt care for her at all and that you dont need anytime to get over her cause you where enver into her.

well i have been with my high school sweetheart for years man. but ive been with too many friends who have had break ups. go out, have fun, get your mind off of her, and hang with your boys. they can find things to do that will help you. and while your out, scout the field. have a good time and let her deal with it too. im not telling you to go and have a rebound one night stand or something. take your time. you do have your whole life. so good luck and i hope you can work this out my friend.

Break-ups really aren't so bad. There is a reason they happen. I know it sucks now but pretty soon you'll find someone else. Just concentrate on what you are doing at the moment and sooner or later things work themselves out. I broke up with a serious girlfriend a few months before I met my current wife and I shudder to think what my life would be like if I had stayed with the other girl. You'll be fine. good luck.

I am actually one of the few people that can handle breakups as if they are nothing. The thing you have to do is remain positive and see that it was for the best. In the end it is better that you guys broke up now rather then further down the track.

Don't beat yourself up over it, and if you guys truely broke up because shit was on teh rocks you should have no regrets in the end of this relationship.

Basically see mate that this isn't the end of the world - sure she may have been fantastic and all that and then some, but at the end of the day there are many more women out there who will give you something new, something special and something unique.

There is no way for me to tell you how to handle your grief. For me I just go 'what went wrong, what did i like in her? what did I hate in her?'. I don't bother trying to salvage a relationship that I know was doomed - there is no point but to waste each others time again.

So mate take it as a learning experience, now you are one step closer to knowing what exactly you want in your future wife

no magic formula I know of. It takes time - the more you cared about her, the longer it will take. Its fine to spend time with friends, hang out, work - work on you. Exercise, take up a new hobby, whatever - just don't spend a lot of time doing nothing. Don't know if you are spiritual or not - you might consider praying about it.
Don't expect to forget about her soon - just give yourself some time. You'll look back in time, and realize it was for the best.
