k i got a question. i got some Methadose(10mg) the other day. but havent taken any yet. i've been reading online about it and all these websites are freaking me out. there all saying you can get addiction to them way to easy. freaks me out man!
i want to hear from someone who has TAKEN them atleast more than once. how many should i take my first time? and did you have withdrawl from them?

Warning!!!!The possibility of overdose by opiate-naive individuals is extremely high.I base this on much research done on this subject.When I say opiate-naive I mean someone with little or no tolerance.Methadone is often prescribed and standardized to people who have high tolerance levels.What this means is that you need to be extremely careful not to take too much.Start low and work your way up.Here is an article for you to read if you are interested:

"Methadone is not an innocent substance; one's methadone maintenance dose is another's poison. (2). A regular user of opiates develops a certain tolerance. Therefore, it is possible that a tolerant person can function normally with dosages which can be fatal to a non-tolerant person. Also, methadone dosage in the case of first entry to the program has to be evaluated carefully. It is wise to begin with a low dosage that has to be increased slowly in the course of weeks or even months. At entry to the program, it has to be carefully evaluated whether a patient has a clear and unambiguous heroin dependence. In methadone maintenance programs, methadone is dispensed to tolerant persons, moreover, this tolerance remains high because of daily use of methadone. methadone is just legal heroin, it's made from the same things, and it just as addictive. But it's supposed to be safer, it's what they prescribe to heroin addicts who are trying to quit, it will knock out the DT's and wean them off it.

ive taken them alot. start out with popping half or somthing, wait 30-60mins and pop another half. Ive heard the first time you do them, if you take a low amount thats how much you have to take to get high, and if you increase alot..rather than just staying at the same dose, then immediately your tolerance goes up to what youve taken at the most. This is just what ive heard. The thing to watch about methadone is how long it takes to kick in, i think when people od its because they keep popping them because they dont immediately kick in, it take like 30-60 mins. Start way low like i said and work up if you dont feel anything. Also DONT snort, inject,smoke these pills. You can pop them, or chew them thats it.

I have been using methadone and or methadose for about 10 years and I know everything there is to know about the drug. What you say about overdose is accurate. You should NOT be taking Methadone, unless you have had some type of opiate in the past. Methadone is MUCH to strong of a drug and much too dangerous for you to be taking without working up a tolerance to the opiates first, such as hydrocodone, oxycodone, codeine, oxycontin, etc... After you have had these kinds of opiates in your system for some time, then it would be o.k. to take moderate doses of methadone without worrying about overdose death. This happens everyday, somewhere in america. Methadone is the single most killer when it comes to recreational pills. People just don't know how strong of a drug it is. It does have the least side effects and very good for pain and addiction, but it is NOT for the beginning user. You will find yourself or your loved ones in the graveyard. And, be damned careful with your dosage when you do begin treatment. Methadone stays in your system much, much longer than any other opiate does. They leave your system in 3 to 4 hrs if your taking a regular pill and not a time release. Methadone will stay in your system from 12 to 24 hrs and will also build up in your liver. This is what causes the overdoses. Take care of yourself and don't over do anything. Life is too short as it is, and too sweet. Drugs should be taken for what they are prescribed for and not for a buzz anyway.

One of my friends just entered rehab. One of the big things he was on was methadone and has been for a while now. He said they told him in rehab that the methadone builds up in your bones and when he went through detox, it makes you hurt extremely bad while the methadone is released from the bones.

A friend has had Heroin issues in the past, she managed a first withdraw using prescribed ativan, katamine, valium & other meds (knocked her out through the worse of it).
Her next extended use (2yrs 2-5times a day) couldn't be solved that way.

She started off on a Methadone maintenance.

Tried rapid detox using naltrexone (a scam for most ppl trying it).

Eventually, wen't from maintenance dosage to withdrawing dosage (drop dose by 5-10% every 2-3 weeks).
took three years to wheen off.

She's positive that Methadone is more addictive than H.

i take oxy's on a fairly regular basis maybe once a week....anyway ive taken a whole methadone waffer before and i didnt feel a thing ...nothing nadda.....oxy's fuck me up sooooo much more....anyway i just thought that was wierd seeing as how strong this pill is supposed to be
