Finley, I have a lot of respect for you for the many things you have established at this site. However one thing does bother me. I do agree leechers are a problem and a real plague at webrats but need you refer to them as 'fags'?

Why use that term? It is hateful and really says a lot about what insecurities you may have and how you must lash out at people who are different. I am not here to preach but rather to ask everyone what you think about using terms that are dereogitory towards people who don't need any more hate?

Please share your thoughts.

But since this a serious conversation I will give a serious answer now. Its a figure of speech. Just like 'working like a whore on crack' is a figure of speech. But hell if you come to a website that gives you free pr0n, with no ads/malware and you cant give up 2s of your time to say ty or give them rep after they have done the leg work and taken the time to post the content you really are a fag.

I'm not gay and I do post replies. I don't use the word 'fag' for the same reason I don't use the word 'nigger': it's derogatory. Your reasoning is really off but thanks for the reply...I guess. I also find it really mature that I have gotten negative rep for this post, simply asking a question about why some people don't think it's wrong to slander people who are different.

You need thick skin here and let stuff roll off your back. Hell, I get called a fag almost everyday here even though everyone knows I'm married. In fact, my wife is a member here.

One of our Mods is Mexican and gets called everything from Beaner to people asking him to mow their lawn. He laughs, I laugh, we all laugh.

Ok, to answer your question, let me explain best I can.

The Lurker of the Day Thread you see now is in its 3rd incarnation. We have been calling lurkers fags for well over 2 years. I think there is a certain amount of logic to my claim if people don't post replies, they may be gay, as if they liked girls they would voice approval.

Leeching is a problem all over the internet. Some forums ban you if you look and don't reply. Some ban you if you act like a dickhead. We don't. But, the site owner wants people to post, and I do whatever I can to grant his wish. If it means calling a lurker a queer, I am going to do it.

Now, you are a member since June 2005 with 42 posts. I have been warning folks longer than that, that they need 100 posts to ensure they keep their accounts. You have ignored the hints posted all over girl pics. Frankly, your account could be pruned anytime and you wouldn't be able to be a member here. Probably it won't happen right away, there are worse post counts to deal with than yours when we prune next.

I'll keep calling people fags and niggers. It's only the intraweb for goodness sake. If using those words causes more people to post than would have otherwise to avoid the tag of fag or nigger for themselves, I have done my job, that is getting people to post. Not everyone is going to like it for sure, but that's just the way it is, I am constantly contributing to this site in the ways I can and as often as I can. My ways are working, and I do try to improve on them.

If tells me to stop using those terms, I will, he is my boss. For now, live with them or ignore them.

Personally, I think people need to lighten up.

This strikes me as very similar to people who refer to calling things "gay" as "passive-aggressive gay bashing." That's BS, its slang, thats all it is. When I say something is gay I'm not being literal, just like when I say something sucks I don't mean it actually has suction.

Using the word "Fag" is the same thing, especially on the internet. It's not meant to be taken in a literal context, rather it is merely used as a word to describe someone who is undesirable or who does things others disapprove of.

Yeah yeah yeah it hurts some people's feelings and they feel depressed yadda yadda yadda, but those people need to lighten up, get a life, and maybe work on their self-confidence a little. If you can't laugh off someone calling you something that obviously isn't true, then maybe you shouldn't talk to people at all.

Not really directed at you personally, popopopo, but you did bring it up.

The neg rep you got was probably just someone feeling you were questioning finley, our "grand pooba" we kind of tend to stick up for one another, so I'm really not surprised.

And for the record, if you had posted this in any other forum, it would have been open season on you. Skept didn't show enough restraint, though from his post it's obvious he at least thought he had. That's not a threat or anything, sorry if it sounds like it is, but people with extremely low post counts who question someone as revered as fin tend to get flamed around here.

Now get to posting, and we'll stop calling you a lurker.

Maybe it's just me, but I've seen a change in the attitudes around this place from when I joined. Sure there were a few people that gave others a hard time (namely Juan and Hijacker), but for the most part, the entire community wasn't out to get every single lurker, noob, post whore, etc under the sun.

My take is this:
If you need thick skin to survive here, then you are more likely to give others a hard time to test their skin thickness. So all new regular members give shit to the lurkers/noobs as well as the ones who "taught" them. Pretty soon, I think there will be an utter halt to webrats gaining new regulars. I could be wrong, but that's just my opinion.

I as well as many others don't "flame" n00bs until they start acting like douches. I give ratehr warm welcomes in the n00b forum unless someone comes out firing demands and request.

Lets face it....90+ percent of the people that join up here never make themselves heard nor care too. That has nothing to do with the criticism thrown around here. If they did, and saw the rest of this place other than the Vag they might.

Case in point....Joerockhead. Him and I went rounds when he first started here, we went back and forth and then he saw the humor this place generally harbors and became a part of it.

If people would jump into the BOTH once in awhile I think they would feel more comfortable posting because they would see that just being yourself goes along way here. But they run right to the Vag....lurk, and fell the've been here long enough to start begging for material without making any effort to help the site themselves.

One thing I know is that I don't want to have to walk on egg shells here to avoid hurting someones feelings. I expect people to be honest and up front with me....not passive because it's the nice thing to do.

I agree that fag is deragatory. But, this is a porn forum. It is not the place for polite conversation. The language (and names) get corse. Consider the language the price you pay for the pretty girls.

I have to disagree with the likening of "fag" to "nigger."

When one guy calls another guy a fag, he's not stating the person is a homosexual, and deriding him for his sexuality. The same cannot be said for nigger, which is used towards black people in the most negative manner.

Basically, it's just chiding, and it's been going on much longer than WR has been around.

Your argument is not with WR/Wizard, but with society. Whether it is justified is a matter of opinion.

Frankly, I think you should go back to the lesson you learned from your parents when you were six years old. You came in crying because some other kid called you a dummy, and your mom or dad looked you in the eye and said: "sticks and stones may break your bones, but words can never hurt you."

Same lesson applies here.
