Ann Coulter: Godless...The Church of Liberalism.
I thought it was the best book I've ever read. Any other opinions?

Re: Ann Coulter: Godless...The Church of Liberalism.
Coulter is a conservative writer. She takes on liberalism and all that it stands for and calls it in itself a religion. She does a great job defunking a whole lot of conspiracy and speculation about the war and about evolution and a whole lot of other topics.
Not a real good explanation, I know.

She's also one of the most vile women I've ever heard speak. Some of the garbage that comes out of her mouth is beyond shocking.

Re: Ann Coulter: Godless...The Church of Liberalism.
so a love her or hate her type of character then?
would someone from the uk (me!) be able to read and get what she's saying - a few US writers dont seem to cross the pond well as there books tend to be full of refrences to US current events that we wouldnt have heard about (in particular US politics).
im always looking for something new to read so i might give one of her books a whirl.

I agree that things that some things that come out of her mouth are shocking. I really think she should stick more to conservative principle instead of just yelling about liberals. However, everything she says in the book is backed up by fact with citations and everything. She debunks countless myths and lies by the democratic party. If you can get past the insults it really gives great criticism.

Since you're from the UK, and are involved in the Iraq conflict with us, I really think you should give it a try. It will give you some good insight into why our home countries are fighting the war.

You can say the same about Michael Moore's books, but that doesn't stop conservatives from dismissing them as fantasy.
All politics aside, I'd definitely put it in her pooper.

Moore attempts to debunk fact by taking direct quotes out of context, he doesn't cite where the quote, or information came from. When the full context is taken, the message is more often than not almost the direct opposite from what he displayed it to be. Coulter has more citations to the full text than I've seen in any politically oriented book, and the full text is 100% in line with her speculations.
All politics aside, I really don't care for her looks.

She's attractive, but not gorgeous. I think it's the fact that I hate her so much that makes me want to do her. Sick, isn't it?

Re: Ann Coulter: Godless...The Church of Liberalism.
I haven't read the two newest books, but I bought Slander and it had pretty good citations also, with less baseless name calling than Godless is reported to have.
A great book related to Iraq and the war on terror is "DisInformation : 22 Media Myths That Undermine the War on Terror" by Richard Miniter. He gives at least two references for every item he debunks including two pages of links between Al Qadea and Iraq (not specifically links to 9/11), and several WMD related items that have been found but not reported such as several artillary shells with traces of Serin (a couple were full), one shell with biotoxins, and around 2000 pounds of weapons grade uranium.

I don't know how Coulter does it because I have yet to read one of her books, though I did skim through her last one, I think its called "How to talk to a Liberal if you must." and found it quite humorous, but Moore puts his source citations at the back of the book.
"Stupid White Men" has 17 pages.
"Dude, Where's My Country" has 26 pages, which is about 10% of the book, that's not including the citations at the bottom of the pages in chapter 1.
"Downsize This" appears to have none, wonder if he caught flack for it and that's why so much appears in his latter works.
This is turning into a total thread hijack, BTW.
Have you seen "Bowling for Columbine?" I won't ask about "Farenheit 9/11" because honestly I don't think it's his best work, it was obviously thrown together hastily to get it out before the election.
I'm curious what you thought of it, as it deals less with politics and more with American culture and the "Culture of Fear."

I noticed :happycow: oh well.
The reason I think Moores books are rhetorical is because of the sources he puts at the back of the book. The sources are not tied to the things he says in his book. In other words, he is right because of how he interprets the sources, not because of what they actually say, and since you can't see exactly where he is coming from there is no way to question what he says. The sources in the book are all just "items he has read to further his knowledge"
I have never seen any of his movies. No reason really, just haven't gotten around to it.
