Do i have a problem.....or was it a fluke?
Ok, so im an 18 year old male, and ive never had a bed wetting problem, even as a young child. But this morning i woke up and discovered that i had pissed all over my bed in my sleep. I was not the least bit intoxicated, i didnt take any special medicine. I did have a dream where i went to the bathroom and took a pretty long piss, so i think thats when it happened.
My question is, was this just a one in a million fluke, or do i have a problem?
(I have excellent bladder control, and i urinate before i go to bed, so i never sleep on a full bladder)

It could be just one of those weird things that happens. Like of like a wet dream but more wet.

Can't help you on that. There might be some cleaners that will work, but your best bet is to get a new one.

given your history i would say it was just a fluke thing ... if it continues to happen , seek medical attention ... there could be organic or psycological causes .
the best thing for getting urine out of a mattress is a gallon of gasoline and a match .

Re: Do i have a problem.....or was it a fluke?
It's funny how dreams can be so real. I had a similar dream many years ago and caught myself just as I started to go.
Since I'm a little older than you (actually a lot older, I'm 57) I can tell you dreams are so real sometimes you have no idea your asleep. Some dreams are totally unreal yet you still don't realize it either. I've had dreams where I'm doing something with my older brother, father or best friend and not think anything was wrong. My brother died when I was 20, my father died about 10 years ago, and my best friend died about 5 years ago.
I've had dreams where I'd find myself so deep in sleep that I had to wake up several times before I be back to reality. That scared the shit out of me because I'd realize I was dreaming and just couldn't get back to reality. I'd just find myself in another dream.
Sometimes dreams are a bit funny. My wife works nights. One time I went to sleep only to find myself making out with some women I saw on the internet. I'm just about to get it on when the old lady comes in. Actually, she just got home from work. I woke up and realized I'd been dreaming. But It still felt embarrising.
I don't think you have anything to worry about if it's only an isolated instance. If it happens several times, especially if you don't dream about it. Then I'd see a doctor about the problem.

Re: Do i have a problem.....or was it a fluke?
My best suggestion for cleaning a mattress (and I've never tried this before so I'm not guaranteeing it will work!) is to place it outside, prop it up on two chairs or something, spray it down with water, if you've got buddies that can help you maybe you can lay a tarp down on the ground, add some detergent to it, hop around on it to get the detergent all worked into the mattress, and then spray it down to rinse every last bit of soap out of it. When you're rinsing you might want to prop it up at an angle and makes sure you spray from the top down, so that you don't just push the soap around.
Hmm, I just thought about mattresses having springs, don't you think washing one would cause them to rust?

Re: Do i have a problem.....or was it a fluke?
Well i got it cleaned. Used upholstry cleaner, then water, then a deodarizer/disinfectant spray. Smells fine. I also flipped the matress so i wouldnt be sleeping on it.
And i talked to my mother about this (shes a nurse, but it was still akward telling her i pissed my bed). She said its a mild bladder infection, so i started drinking cranberry juice yesterday and voila.......im all better now (i was having frequent bladder urges all throughout the day yesterday, like every 30 minutes, so it wasnt really a fluke, thank god).
I was a little paranoid sleeping last night though........didnt want it to happen again. But everything is all better now.

If you are still worried about wetting your bed then you might wanna consider having a layer of towels spread out on your bed.

I'd say it was a fluke. You have nightmares and scream. You have hot dreams and cream. I'd say you had a dream about pissing and did it. Don't worry.

Re: Do i have a problem.....or was it a fluke?
Nice work on getting things worked out. Whenever I get REAL tanked I tend to sleep right through any trips that should have included a hallway visit. Usually shots, followed by a bunch of beers, then sleep.
I can imagine the conversation that goes on in my body during THAT fiasco:
Bladder: "Dude, get up, we gotta take a leak down here - bad."
Brain: "Nah, fuck it."
Washing Machine the Next Morning: "Shit, not this again. Fuckin' frat guys."

Re: Do i have a problem.....or was it a fluke?
that happened to me before too. same dream and everything. like licupussy said, dreams can seem so real you believe it. i think it could be that you really did have to piss, and you mind just transferred that urge into your dream.
