alright, Christmas is coming up and I want get a 'haircut' so I'm nice for my girl. She's always shaved for me, so I wanna get extra good for her this xmas. Usually I just shave everything close....my question is can guy's get a bikini wax? and what would it entail...???

Yes. It will hurt. Pop a couple Tylenol before you go... and give it a day or two before you do anything to that area, it will be tender for a while. 1/2 inch is a good length. If it's too long/too short it won't work as well.

A bikini wax!!!! Good for you! Definitely make sure the hairs aren't too short. Take 2 advil 1 hour before you go. You want an anti-inflammatory. Tylenol is good for the pain, but you want a pain killer AND and an anti-inflammatory, so ibuprofen is your best bet. And don't go to a place just because it's cheap! That's a valuable area, you don't wanna mess it up. Pay the money for it, it'll come out better. And starting the next day, start putting lotion on it that has salicylic acid. You don't want bumps showing up. Good luck!

Oops, my bad... didn't know the diff between Tylenol and Advil and that Advil will work better... I just know that I'm allergic to it so avoidance at all costs!

I'm kinda tempted to go for the $65 ones to see what the $25 difference in cost will buy me... one time I went and the lady who was doing my waxing had her daughter (5 yr old kid?) knock on the door... out she went and she left the door wide open. LIke, hello, I'm NAKED in here!!!

Uh....try to go to places where there won't be children interrupting, LoL. Generally, the more upscale places will use better wax, in that the wax may not be hot wax, but a sugar wax, which won't be as hot, so less pain in that sense, but also less pain when they pull. I don't know why it's less pain, but it just is. Oh! Also exfoliate (don't scrub TOO hard) like, the day before. You want clean pores so the hair will come out more easily.

Yeah, I guess the $25 difference is the daughter interrupting. I dunno, I kinda like the hot wax, it makes the hair-pulling feel better

I'm with kornut, why not just shave? Conditioner, my mach 3 with a new blade and they fellas keep clean for a week and a half.... if you haven't tried it yet, why not?

ahh, I usually shave but im tired of doing it like 3 times a month...i think a bikini wax lasts like 2 months or something....

do i just go to any place where they do it for girls? or is there a male one to go to?

Yup you just go to a girly place... they offer "Sport Manicures" and junk for men so they shouldn't be girls-only places... there's not a lot of guys who will get it done, and there's even less who will admit to it, so building a guys-only establishment would be bad for business. And wouldn't you rather have your junk handled by a female waxer?

Haha, I like how the guys are like, just shave, don't do the wax. And the girls are saying, you're awesome, go for it! Now all I gotta say is, if you're doing this for a girl, wouldn't you want to go with the girls' opinion? ^_-

That's because guys know how sensitive those areas are. Why would you pay someone a good chunk of change to go rip hair out from the folicles when you could just keep shaving. 3 times a month....no biggie. I shave every day (face) 3 times a month for my boys is a-okay. Not to mention when you're down there you give yourself a feel test for growths and visual for discoloration and stuff.

I have a big problem with ingrowns too, so waxing is a no-no.

yea that would be the smart thing to do...i want it to kinda be a suprise though. there have always been positive reactions after a shave down there, so i figure this is smoother and well no pain, no gain right? i probably wont be saying that after the first rip, haha...i might tell her not to do my balls and use my razor for them...cuz i dont know if i could deal with the waxing of the balls....it reminds me of 'Something About Mary' when Ben Stiller gets his zipper stuck....ouch!

Here's an idea... why don't you try it out months before your surprise time... or do you just wanna go through the ordeal once? I mean, if you try it and it hurts for a week, at least you know what to expect for when you do want it done.
