Going in January for the first time (together) with my wife. Any suggestions on things to do or see would be appreciated. I know there is no shortage of things to do I was just hoping to learn from other peoples experience and maybe save some time and money.
Don't go to Vegas if you don't want to spend $$$$. Remember, they didn't build all those buildings by giving money away. The hotels are great! all the top hotels have great spas. Great resturants (not the cheap buffets) great shows, Clubs are great if that you thing.
THE BEST VEGAS ADVICE YOU'LL EVER GET
when you go to vegas talk to taxi cab drivers almost all of them have cards that will get you free admission to clubs and free drinks. 2 buddys and i went just afew weeks ago. i work for an airline so we flew standbye for $15 and had no problems getting there or home. dec, and jan is the best time to go because there are less people and the weather is nice 60 degrees during the day! we stayed at hooters hotel and casino and split a $50 room three ways!! getting there and getting a place to stay was dirt cheap. we found cheap buffets too which were good. the best deal was what we got from the taxi cab driver. we started talking to this guy and he asked what our plans were that night. we told him we were planning on going to the strip clubs and asked him which ones he recomended. that when he told us that he would take us to as many strip clubs we wanted to go to, get us in for free and get us drinks for free. we were scepticle but decided to give it a shot and im glad we did!! we went to 13 strip clubs that night they were all top notch. we got or cover fees waived and drank what should have been $13 drinks for free. ( at a few of them we had to buy one drink but got a second one free) The best part of the night was at one of the clubs we saw Jenna Jamison (porn star) strip!!!!! with all the money we saved we got to spend more on lap dances which made the expeirence more enjoyable.
Im sure since your going with your girl you wont be going to many strip clubs but the taxi driver gave us card to get into regular dance clubs too. the big famous ones like "rain" and "pure". the driver said almost all taxi's have these cards so its worth while to ask about them and make friends with the drivers.
at the end of the night we actually made money because our driver gets paided by clubs to take people there, our driver because he was cool, split what he made with us so at the end of the night we made $140!!!! he said that even with spliting the cash with us he still made more money by driving us around then he would have picking up different fares all night and he never charged us for anything (we did tip him though)
Taxi drivers are the real kings of vegas they know where everything is and how to do those things cheaply so i highly suggest making friends with them!!!
