Regional Bud Prices: post your hometown homegrown prices here!

I go to school at Brevard College in North Carolina right now, and we have some pretty dank herb here. It has been evolving recently, and now most of what we get is organically soil-grown. In the past month we have had homegrown blueberry, sensi star, bubblegum, bubbleberry (the blueberry and bubblegum guy are one in the same), florida grounds (organic-smells like coffee-bright green), train wreck, shiva X haze, humboldt X blueberry, etc...... Now my only gripe is the price, $50 for a f-n 8th, and its homegrown, pure profit. So I was wondering, what are some of the strains that you all get, and please put down their prices so I can compare and perhaps make a road trip! Also, its cool to see whats goin on with herb in different parts of the country. cool.

Actually Its not pure profit especialy if it is organic. Electricity costs a decent amount too. All those organic chemicals and teas (in my experience) cost more than the chemicals used in hydro. Plus, there is a lot of investment in equipment, time, and personal risk. In NC, cultivation of 1/2 oz to 10 pounds is a felony with 1 to 6 years of hard time.

I was living in Mooresville last year and I was getting lower quality than that stuff for about the same price. All in all, I think that price is pretty fair. There is a lot more work that goes into it than you might think. Its not just "Ima gonna put these here seeds in this here dirt and check in on em in a couple months."

As for local prices, Im paying 40 an eighth for hydro-grown blueberry and haze. Thats direct from the grower with no middle man. At the same time though, I dont buy in small denominations so economy of scale plays a factor as well. The way I see it, Im gonna buy it eventualy, so i might as well get a discount for bulk purchaces. Maybe something to think about?

Hope this helps. Stay up!

Yeah, youre right about economy of scale. My point was that I also know the grower of the gum and berry, and his setup is massive (100+ plants), but very cheap. His water system is actually set up on solar power. The thing is, hes a dick, and he likes to have money all of the time. He wouldnt even break on a quap, 1600. Those numbers make some people shudder. His yield is enormous, and kids here will pay even 60 an 8, so hes makin serious bank. I know that organics is expensive, but hes got it all figured out; he even has a fish pond so he can make his own fish emulsion when he needs. its crazy. thats why i was bitchin. but thanks for the input man.

Yeh I remember the desperation of people when i was in NC and it wasnt pretty. I was in that place a few times myself.... Shady people, shady prices, and shady bags.... Im sure thats not representative of all of NC but I mostly would drive out of state just to get decent stuff without getting reamed. I have a feeling his prices might just be representative of the market in your area. (plus hes a dick)

Anyway, there is only one way to never have to deal with any of that bull shit again.....

PM me if you want some info on the subject. I will be "independent" myself soon and am always happy to share the knowlege.

I don't really partake myself or really participate in the buying, but at UNC its like 45 an 8 for decent stuff. One of my friends gets like a QP of really shitty for like 400 every like week or two. Man I know too many potheads

I live near memphis TN and prices here aren't that bad. $50 for an eighth is is the basic price for most cities i've been to if you're getting drow. here you can get a gram of hash and an eighth of drow for $75. of course if you like stuff like dank or schwag its usually between 20 and 35 an eighth.
[edit] the drow is homegrown hydroponic. nothing but the best.

I live in southern Texas, and it's about $40-50 (seasonal) an ounce for shwag (who loves shwag? I do). It's good, too: no skunkweed here.

$50 for an 1/8 is going to be the base price for some good nuggets no matter where you go in the USA. And props to GreenandCars for the good post in this thread.

the price of pot should not be discussed in measurements, it should be judged in enjoyment. I have had 1/8ths last for getting 20-25 highs out of them. On the other hand, i have had 1/4s that have only gone for about 5 highs. here for about 20 good highs, you are going to pay 50 dollars.
