A realistic problem...

Well, while I am not looking for anything serious at the moment (being a junior in college) I have been looking for things that could turn that way in several years, but mainly been focusing on just having fun. My main problem is that I have had several chicks (all younger freshmen) point out to me that I apparently am a 'Mr. Negativity'. At first I laughed it off, thinking that they have nearly no experience with crap that goes down in life, which therefore shows that they cannot distinguish between a 'realistic' outlook on what to expect happening or a 'negative' approach on what may or may not occur. I was just mainly curious to see what anyone here would have to say about this, on if I should just pretend to be seeing things through rose colored spectacles like them or if I should continue seeing things in their true color. I was also curious on your thoughts in general on whether it is worthwhile to try short term stuff w/ younger (18-20) girls or if they should be avoided and older ones selected instead. Thanks for the input!

Sometimes folks that haven't been around the rougher things in life haven't a clue about lifes harsh realities; unfortunately, if they're hot chicks and you'd like to spend some time with them, your "negativity" may be their buzzkill. Why not let them get to know you a little before letting them see the really true you?

I know my opinion isn't much, but I'd say to heck with the younger women. Unless, of course, the only reason for knowing them is to bed them. Just my thoughts.

I agree...I dated a younger chick for a few years (20 when I met her) and she was great if there were no problems in her life, but as soon as something tough came along she just gave up and many a time I had to work really hard to keep things together, and earlier this year she hit another bump in the road and gave up on the relationship altogether, which really sucks, but I learned my lesson and she needs to figure herself out as well...it all depends on what you want and you never know, sometimes there are younger chicks that can handle tough times better than others

Life sucks. We all know it. People prefer to be around other people who make them feel good about themselves, not call attention to the crap. Very few guys have the charisma to pull off the morose James Dean persona. So keep your negative opinions to yourself, and compliment the 'chicks' and they'll love you.
