dinner help
ok i got my ribs down
BUT im really trying to figure out how to really prepare and cook my steak t-bone or strip fyi i usually just heat up 600 degrees and 3 min each side works well but i think i could do better ANYONE |
Re: dinner help
I put the steaks in a ziplock bag, add minced garlic (the wet jar kind), cajin seasoning, fresh ground pepper, tabasco, olive oil and apple cider vinager. Press all the air out and let marrinade in the fridge for a while, flipping the bag over half way though.
I'll soak corn on the cob in water for several hours (husks on) and add them to the grill before the steaks. Steak fries in the oven. I buy the large wood chunks used for grilling and put them in a chimmany lighter and never add lighter fluid. I use a barrel smoker. The wood burns hotter than charcole so you can get it lit and flame broil the steaks. Try it with thick filets as well. |
Re: dinner help

Re: dinner help
How do you like your steak? Rare? Medium? Well?
The best all-around way is just some good seasoning... well-salted, very well-peppered, a little fresh garlic... If you like sauce, like A1, you could put a little on to marinate the meat first. The reason grilling is the best is because those cool little grill marks aren't just aesthetically pleasing, but they add a little charred flavor as well. If you're dead set on doing it in the oven, I would marinate the meat in some red wine, most likely a good red zinfandel, with some garlic, and a little bit of basil, , then before you cook, salt and pepper to taste. Seasoned salt never goes wrong. If you're cooking for a date, let me know, and I can help you set up a whole meal, start to finish. |
