One year...

since me and Xev's step-dad past away. Great man, that's all I can really say. We're having a deathday party for him today.

Ok, maybe deathday party is a little macabre, but we're having a little get-together in his memory.

you sick bastid! :p

First year anniversary blows. I still haven't been able to do much of anything on my bro's, though this year I treated it like a normal day.

Nice noob senator pic in your sig, BTW. How's that MTV/CNN/NYT Bandwagon Party going? :hay:

I don't watch MTV and I don't read the NYT. And what bandwagon? Read my stuff from 4 years ago, I've had my eye on Obama for years.

Ha ha. Just giving you some shit bro.

Honestly, it's another fucking dog race again :sad2:

I seriously wish a viable third party candidate would step in and give the citizens of the United States at least another option for leadership of this country.

Love him or hate him, Ross Perot did a great job in shaking the election process up when he threw his hat into the ring in 1992. I like the idea of a proven successful businessman stepping in and running this country like a fucking business and getting things set straight.

Not sure who I'm voting for, or if I vote for president this year at all. But I know without a doubt it would NOT be Obamamama. His ties to organized labor and the effect that he would have on labor laws and taxes would be disastrous to an already challenged economy and business environment in the U.S..

I also just realized that I hijacked your thread :jimi:

Tip a 40 or two and good luck with your death festivities

It's the BOTH, thread hijacking is second-nature.

Jimi and Xev: I hope the day went well and everyone had a few laughs about the old times. First anniversaries can be tough.

Re: One year...

I voted for Ross Perot.

Twice.

I don't trust any politicians. And I thought all of them were corrupt until this past 8 years. And now I know they are. If the democrats wanted to change the status quo, they would provide us with someone electable. Apparently, every politician is owned by the powers that be. Whomever they are. Maybe they are the PENTAVERATE.

- And sorry about your step-dad. I remember you mentioning it last year. Sounded like a stand up dude.

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old Texas rancher, who‘s
hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a
conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to
Obama and his bid to be our President.

The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know, Obama is a 'post turtle'.'

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a 'post
turtle' was.

The old rancher said, 'When you're driving down a country road and you
come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post
turtle'.'

The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he
continued to explain. 'You know he didn't get up there by himself, he
doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he is up
there, and you just wonder what kind of a dumb ass put him up there.'

me too...the world would be a different, and probably better, place today had he won. I am so fed up with the two-party bullshit in this country.

Anyway, back on topic, my sympathies for your step dad and I hope your mom is doing OK.

Seriously, if you had kept up with Obama's action this last few years, you'd understand how he got to where he is.

I think he's been black a lot longer than the last few years Jimi.

/argument

He's as much white as he is black. I'm talking about the things he's done in Chicago. The guy has done lots for the community, not just the black folk.
