No. Cingular is changing to AT&T so it will be coming out only for AT&T. However, the iPhone really isn't anything unique at all. Its a smartphone with an Apple brand, whoop-de-do. I don't see Apple making a dent in the cellphone market as it is going to be too expensive, supported by one network, and does not offer an innovative features (IMO touchpads on cellphones are horrible. I like pressing the button).

I give Apple credit for trying to expand into a new market, but LG and Motorola prettty much have it covered. Especially when they can give away phones for free. Sorry Apple, I think you are going to have a big bite taken out of ya!

And I hear Cisco is sueing them over the name...pshh...when will all these lawsuits stop!!!!

it will be interesting to see it when it comes out, but i think they make struggle to keep up with the competition and price on the market...

How would you know this? No one, besides (probably) Steve Jobs, has actually used one. You mean it sounds awesome, but specs on paper don't always translate into equal real world performance.

Don't forget Blackberry. It is an awesome phone. Got the Pearl 8100 for Christmas and it lives up to its name. Had the Motorola V3 Razr for two years and there is no comparison. Smartphones are going to rule just give them a chance.

THe Pearl is cool. I like sidekicks and Pocket PC's a couple of my friends have each of them they are so cool. I phone would be better if it had a slide out qwerty keypad i think

the iphone is $500 or $600 and it doesnt have a camera. also no gps. the browser looks good and will probably work well if its safari based, but nokia has safari based browsers too..

500 fu#$ing dollars i want a nice camera and gps included. actually thats $500 plus probably a 2 year contract with bs att/cingular/att.

also i hear that apple will control all addon software through itunes. so they will allow what they want, when they want, for how much they want. Symbian has freeware all over the place. ..please correct me if im wrong.

spend the same money for an unlocked n95. then you get 5mp camera, safari web browser, gps and NO SERVICE CONTRACT.

that said, the phone does look cute.

My personal opinion on the iphone is much like many of the previous posters.

Too Expensive for it's targeted market as well as truely separating itself from its competition nearly as much as it should have. The touch screen LOOKS like a great idea, but in actual use I would be worried about a lot of breakage problems with a glass screen.

I also personally like to have a keyboard for web browsing. I would like a full or nearly complete keyboard as well as messaging. I do not want to have to rely on a projected screen or a touch screen keyboard that takes up screen space.

Get a HTC 8525 or a little less and still have al the features or even less than that is the 8125 and still packed with features.

Again, just my personal opinions.

Personally for me the iphone is only good because it can be easily hacked to run off wifi and not have to have service with it. Other than that I dont care much for the phone.

i actually think it's priced in line with it's target market.

it's definitely not a phone priced for the 15 yearolds who just have ipods--it's priced for the people who bought those ipods for them. i was in line for about 4 hours last friday and everyone around me as 25 and up , and didn't have an issue with dropping the coin...
