Dan Brown
I have read the Four Books that he currently has out (that I know of), I am curious to see what others have thought of them.
Also does anyone know anything about him coming out with a new book sometime soon? |
Re: Dan Brown
Yeah, i've read those four aswell. Davinci code is probably his best, Angels isnt bad either. All his books tend to follow the same theme and plot though, but he brings up some interesting topics and they are easy reads.
No idea if he has another book on the way. |
Re: Dan Brown
Ok I was wondering if I was the only one who seemed to see the same plot popping up in every book, gotta say that Angels was better then Davinci for me but I read Angels first so the basic plot was still new to me.

Re: Dan Brown
i only read DaVinci Code and thought it was a great read. I kept thinking about reading his other books, but every time I read the back to see what the book was about, I got the feeling it was the same plot as DaVinci code but with different characters and a different topic.

Re: Dan Brown
Yeah i read two of them... and they all felt the same

Re: Dan Brown
read all four and throughly enjoyed them.
Didnt take them too seriously mind, as some tend to do. Personally i thought deception point and Angels and demons were the better two books. Ive heard he's writing his new book at the moment and its based around the free masons. |
Re: Dan Brown
Ive read Davinci, Angels and Deception Point, I found that Davinci was the best, although I read it first, and while reading angels, you couldnt help but notice that the book has the same type of plot, but all three of the books were very exctitng, and i enjoyed them all.

Re: Dan Brown
I've read all 4, and I liked Angels the best. I also enjoyed Digital Fortress since I am a math nerd.

Re: Dan Brown
hmm should i read da vinci code or watch the movie first when it comes out?
|
Re: Dan Brown
It's a good story but none of it is for real.
So see the movie its quicker and just as good. |
Re: Dan Brown
I am glad he won his case so the movie can come out but it has me thinking I might want to read the book written by the other writers. From what I can see it looks like it might be a good read.

One thing about movies based on books is you seem to lose a lot if you read the book first. They have to edit some parts out to make it fit within a budget or a time frame. So, if there is a movie coming out that I know is based on a book, I'll wait to read the book after the movie. That way I don't come out of the movie disappointed cause they left out certain parts of the novel and I still get to enjoy both. |

Have you seen the movie yet? I thought it didn't come out till May 19th. So how would you know it's just as good? |
Re: Dan Brown
Check out Rule of Four by Ian Caldwell & Dustin Thomson - I read it about a year ago or so and I enjoyed it more than the Da Vinci Code.

The other book, "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" is a non fiction piece though, and just goes through the history of the Priory of Sion. But in saying that it is a good enough read, interesting from a historical perspective. |
