A lot of people are saying that soft drugs lead to hard ones. I don't doubt that.

I've never done a hard drug, just smoked some weed on my own when I felt like taking a break from student life, and I don't drink either. Haven't smoked in nearly a year since my girlfriend got me to quit. But sometimes I crave it badly, and it makes me wonder if I'd end up getting addicted to it or possibly harder drugs if I smoked it again.

I like to believe that because I have a bright career ahead of me after I graduate with my degree in Engineering, and perhaps even a chance to do graduate school for free, I'll never let myself get bad enough to lose all that. Not to mention that I'd let my whole family down.

What does anyone think about that? Did anyone ever see their future go down the drain in front of them, all from smoking a little bud?

softer drugs dont lead you into harder drugs

You make the decition to start taking the softer drugs and then you make the decition to take the hard ones, ive been on weed since i was 16 years old and ive tried other stuff, blow, shrooms and other shit they sell here. I only do weed now, why? because i like it and i didnt like what blow and other stuff did to me. Its all up to you and your personality, weed is not to blame for coke addicts and coke is not to blame for heroin addicts, people make the decition. You hear it all, weed then coke, alcohol then coke... fuck that, too many people are big time drinkers and pot heads and have never tried blow and if they have they DECIDED not to make it a habbit.

Its way too easy to blame stuff on the drug.

I think really the only thing that the "soft" drugs do to contribute to stronger drug addictions are that they simply make one less fearful of trying something harder.

Whether or not one gets actually addicted to any of these substances really depends upon whether or not they have an addictive personality.

If you have not had serious dependency issues with anything "soft" that you have done, you probably don't need to worry about anything harder, however the reverse is also true, so caveat emptor.

i went on to 'harder' drugs due to lies in the goverments information about drugs
i was told that if i smoked weed i would turn into a communist and begin to take up arms against the racist south africa
i was also told that weed caused people to sleep with black folk ect
so after i tryed weed and didnt do any of the things they told me would happen i just lost respect
i thaught well they lied about weed lets try this line of coke to see if they lied about that one too
