Been in the Military?
I searched for a Thread like this one before I started and I couldn't find many answers so let's try this.
1. Have you ever been in the military?
2. If so for how long?
3. What is your MOS (your military job)
3. Did you ever serve in a combat zone?
I have been in the Army for 9 years. I am an 11B3P (Infantryman). I have been stationed in Fort Bragg NC, Fort Lewis WA, Fort Benning GA, Korea, and Germany. I have done tours in Afghanistan, Bosnia and Iraq. I see the opinions that some of you have, and I'm just curious as to who else has served.

4. Not a combat zone per se. Was in during cold war days on submarines, playing hide and seek with the Soviets.

My sister's stationed at Ft. Lewis right now. I just took a couple roadtrips up that way. Beautiful area. She's in Iraq right now.

Re: Been in the Military?
this migh be a little off topic but I have two friends in the Army right now, one is stationed in Alaska and the other just finished basic. They are both tankers I believe. Also my brother's best friend from childhood was killed in Iraq last year, that was tough on my bro... war sucks.

Re: Been in the Military?
Yes.
US Marines
4 years (broke both my legs, and was not allowed to re-enlist)
2111 - Infantry Weapons Repairman
29 Palms, ordinance maint. company
Camp Lejune OMC/ IW rotation to Echo Co. for field ex.
Aberdeen, Md. (MOS School)
Indianapolis, IN Det2 ELMACO, unit armorer (reserve)
Had I not broken my legs, I'd be in Iraq now with the rest of my unit from Indy. It would be safe to say I suffer from Firehouse Dog syndrome.
For those of you reading this thread and don't know what that means, it works like this.
You train, live with, and become attached to your fireman, when there is a fire, they load up the truck and leave, while you sit behind, wishing you could go.
