Looking for some explanation here. I know nothing about this topic so I hope you experts can help. Recently I bought a Sirius One car component from a buddy and it had been modified by someone who hacked it and it got all the channels for free. There were about 10 of them that this guys father got from someone and I was one of the last to buy one. The others have been in use for months. Anyway, on my drive home about a week and a half ago on a Friday night, around 5pm the unit did an Update which it does frequently enough. When the update was finished, the unit stopped working and I get the standard "Call Sirius to subscribe" displayed on the screen. It turns out that one other guys stopped working at the same time, but all the others out there still work. We think that the 2 were the only ones on at the time and somehow the update killed them. So, first question is, how did it happen? Do these updates send out a spike or something?

Second question is in regards to the hack itself. I opened up the unit expecting to maybe see a chip or jumper or something but it looks completely stock. I saw the other post about making some kind of unit to do the hack but I could not find any information on the web and don't understand any of it. How did this guy tweek these? Was a chip replaced? Did he plug something in and change a program? If anyone can explain about this I would really appreciate it. If you have any links to how to do this I'd be very interested. Thanks a bunch.
