Re: Is Barack Obama a new type of politican we need in 2008?

jajaja I hear ya bro. and there is a ton of that in this state.. . however.. when you see what they can do, I cant blame people and say it isnt warrented. ...

but. and again.. Its all a big wish.. Times are changin my man. Its gonna take a younger crowd, who have been able to see past what their parents try to brainwash them with.. to see that this guy could be for real. and not some slack friggin nigra.

My wifes folks wont vote for him for that reason. their kids are a different story

I have seen the impact he has had on some of our residents though.. so its too early for me to speculate who these people will be voting for...

That's how Jimmy Carter got elected. After Nixon's resignation the attitude was 'throw all the bums out' and elect someone untainted by the Washington corruption.

Carter's years were the biggest disaster for this country since the depression. We had 'stagflation' (inflation and recession simultaneously, something economic theorists said would be impossible), the OPEC-created energy crisis, the Iran hostage crisis. Carter was surrounded by the most corrupt aides in the history of the US-- including his brother Billy who was a secret lobbyist for Libya.

Being an 'outsider' merely guarantees that you'll be unable to get anyone to do anything.

Re: Is Barack Obama a new type of politican we need in 2008?

Whether he is Muslim, Christian, or athiest, why does that really matter? You don't need any of that crap to run a country effectively, especially a country where anyone could be any religion they want to be. And if he is a Muslim, so effin what? Is that supposed to make him an evil person? I know many Muslims here at UCLA, they are not evil or extremists.

One thing that really pissed me off during the last two elections was the religous right voting for our evil President because he was supposedly a Christian. Didn't matter what else he believed in or what he did during his first term, ho got the vote from the blinded stupid masses, because he was supported by pastors preaching to the bleating lambs.

A person's religion has nothing to do with how well he can run an office, as long as he is a good person, fights for what is right and best for his country, and is competent doing it, he could be an athiest for all I am concerned. This country is not just Christian you know.
