My own view, well....NK is lead by a lunatic. Trouble is he's a lunatic that has China keeping an eye on him, watching his back to a degree. In saying that, china doent want this to escalate either. It would be in everyones best interests to have china deal with them, in their own way. Will china comply?? Thats the million dollar question.

There aren't many choices about what we can do in North Korea. At the moment it is fragile and it would be very easy to start some sort of conflict. I think that test missiles should only be shot down when they become a threat.

NK is a tough ass country and a war with them would be a ling and hard conflict. China would support them, and they would only offer the let us win is if we gave them something major in return. Can anyone here guess what that is???

i read today that now they want to do a nuclear test because Pak said before that meeting that US threats of economic and financial sanctions amounted to "a proclamation of the war".

SHOULD we do anything about it- cause from what i understand thier missels cant reach Hawaii-let alone the USA-
They have been blowing holes in the ground in thier country which in time the will feel the effects- of the Bio-Chemicals they have released into thier soil and water- But seeing that our current president is a war hog- he may send troops over to "Investigate" -
I personally think we need to go over thier- but do we want another Vietnam???
And if we dont go- thier will be more distruction to humans and the Earth..
Something has to be done.

I sincerely doubt China is on their side. I'd bet that even now there are chinese undercover operatives plotting KJL's assassination. This isn't the cold war any more-- An aggressive, nuclear-armed, warlike NK is costing China money...

China definitely wouldn't be on North Korea's side. As soon as January rolls around, Ban Ki-moon needs to haul his ass over there to talk to Kim Jong Il like Carter did with Il's daddy, Kim Il Sung. All he wanted was a little respect. And KJI will be much more receptive to the new South Korean UN Secretary General. I know NK isn't going to freeze their program, but maybe KJI will stop crossing every red line that Bush draws.
