hey i am a senior at a highschool in so. cali. i plan on taking a trip down to mexico with my best friends. does anyone know any good clubs? or any fun things to do?

I grew up in SoCal, and I've made many weekend trips to TJ. Make sure you go with people who've been there before, and stay together. Keep some US cash on you, but make sure it doesn't vanish. You're going down there to get drunk, but don't get too drunk. TJ isn't the place you wanna be drunk and outta control.

TJ was a real shit hole back in the late 60's when I was stationed out at Miramar during my tour in the navy. I heard they cleaned the place up but I don't know how much difference there is today. The beer used to strong as hell and knock you on your ass if you don't watch how your drinking. I made a quick change to whisky to get ride of the pound headache it gave me. I guess you can get Corona in TJ now. Be on your best behavior because you don't want to end up in jail. Make sure somebody knows you down there because they never use to notify anybody. A guy from my squadron got locked up down there and nobody knew it. He went in the back room with some bar girl and got robbed. He started a fight and got locked up. His friends had to go down and pay his fine something like $450 to get him out. Then he got put in the brigg for being AWOL for 7 days.

I'm also from so cal, IE area and used to drive down to Mexico for a day or a weekend when I was under 21. TJ is probably where you want to go for day adventures. If you go only take 40 to 80 bucks in small bills and your cali ID. Thats it! No cell phones or credit cards. Park your car at the border and walk across. From there you'll need to take a taxi to Revolution Street where all the clubs and bars are, or you can walk. I reccomend taking a taxi. If you walk you must know the way and you go through some really shady parts. Also, don't take any chicks. All they do is create an uncomfortable situation if they catch a group of mexicans' attention. I'd roll with about 5 or 6 guys, perferably some big dudes and espically if you're going to be there after dark. Expect to be stopped by the Federali (TJ police) and searched. Don't buy anything stupid like switch blades, fireworks or butterfly knives while you're there. You won't get through the border and if the Federali find them when they search you expect to pay a hefty bribe or go to a TJ jail for the night. Believe me, i know. Most of the clubs like Safari have an "all you can drink" for 20 bucks or something like that. Be sure you tip the dude who brings you drinks like 5 bucks every hour. He'll hook you up with free tequila shots and won't have the bartender water down your drinks. Other than that have a damn good time. I have tons of sweet memories from TJ and also some really bad ones. I'm sure you will too. Remember, don't drink the water. Have a good time bro.
