I wish more people would turn to God for their problems then Dr. Phill. Do not get me wrong Dr phil is a very educated man and alot he says makes good common sense and does seem to work but peole need to put their trust in our creator then a man. It seems no one wants to mention God unless they are faced w/tragedy or some other hardship. Then they pray to God to help them out or aks him for things like a type of Santa Claus, but outside of that it seems we want no part of God because it is uncool to be labeled a christian in any way. We need to put our faith in and ask God to direct our lives more than Dr. Phil and the rest of the t.v talkers

I don't wish people would turn to an imaginary god or some Oprah endorsed self-help idiot who is only in it so he can help himself. My creators were my mom and dad, not some imaginary being/entity.

If people need to believe in a god to make them feel better fine. But I think people should look within for help more than some outdated book, some made up being, or some jackass trying to make a dime on unsuspecting people (wow I never thought I would be able to describe evangelists and Dr. Phil with one prase - who knew?). If people still need help, then turning to a shrink who isn't so self absorbed as Dr. Phil might not be a bad safety net.

I don't feel the way I do because I think it is cool or uncool to have my beliefs. I feel the way I do because I think the concept of a god is a fairy tale, and I just try to live my life to be good because I want to, and think it is the right thing to do (moral obligation/duty) not because some supposedly higher being says so. I don't see anything wrong in just trying to be the best person I can be, so I don't feel a need to put my faith in some god, or have someone/thing to direct me. Call it ignorant or what have you, but I don't feel I need direction.

If you believe in a god, that is fine and I'll respect your belief, but please respect my belief in an absence of any god. Whatever the source of inspiration, I think we all should strive to be better people, and I respect whatever it is that serves as a trigger for others so long as they don't impose that belief on me or others, or believe that their belief is superior to anyone else's. I feel like whatever works for you is fine, but leave it to yourself.

Re: God or Dr Phil

Goin out on a limb here. I’m going to assume most normal people aren’t afraid to pray to god, or to have god in their life. I think the majority of people are ashamed at what the religious leaders have done to their faith. The other half have given up from sheer confusion,. Our government has been steadily taking god out of everything. No god in the courtrooms, but here... swear on this bible. wtf?

I believe that the 10 commandments were the basic rules on how to live a good life. From there man has twisted those basic rules into incomprehensible crap.

I’m ashamed at what these religious fanatics have done. Pat Robertson? Omg.. this guy is beyond dangerous. And those freaks that stake out funerals to protest.. when people see this, and they see how god is being portrayed.. Id run the other way too. I don’t blame them.

Pretty soon everyone will think like kpfairy, and they will refuse to believe, thinking its all a fairy tale. May be, may not be. You won’t know till you’re dead.

Re: God or Dr Phil

I hope this isn't to much off subject. On the recent movie Scary Movie 4, Dr. Phil plays a small part of this movie saying he isn't really a doctor. He says that he just gets paid to tell people how miserable their life is and how they need to shape up. Perhaps I'm wrong, but to me that implies he doesn't even know what he's saying, like he has a whole bunch of lines to memorize before his next show. Almost like it's scripted, but not quite. So yes I agree partially. I do beleive if you have a problem then take it up with a professional shrink (not that Dr. Phil isn't an professional because I don't really know). I don't want to go into the whole religion thing because even if you are respectful of someone elses beleif, they could get offended.

Re: God or Dr Phil

i hate dr phil for some reason. Ive heard dr drew ramble on about his teachings and how simplistic they are in psychology. He is like any other dr, except he is on tv for people to view, so they think he is a saint of sorts. If only all doctors got this kind of positive reputation, but we all cant be on tv. Dr. phil is a doctor period. As for turning to god, i belive there is some truth in living from the bible. Not everything is true though, but i do belive there is facts to better your self in pretty much all religions. People tend to get too twisted up in religion and setting ridiculous standards for todays society. Don't get me wrong dr phil is a good person but hes just like any other doctor to me. Hollywood puts a spin on things and poisons the minds of americans with twisted tv, and movies.
