Site Malware
Hey just wanted to let everyone know that twice today I'm been hit by Drive-by malware on this site. If it is from one of the ads, then I'm not sure which. Guess everyone should run anti-virus and spyware software after they've left the site.

Re: Site Malware
hmmm ... i use firefox , no popups/warning ... there is something though , i have the "loading" hourglass on my cursor ... never goes away ... "waiting for tribal fusion" ... but i would bet this is an issue on your end .
spybot s&d , avg and adaware give a clean report .
from what i can find "errorsafe" is also known as ; winsoftware / winfixer2005 / winantispy2005 , etc etc ... this can be viewed at spywarewarrior.com or some other anti-scum/mal/spyware sites . install it and you get "agressive popup ads" ! it is a pos-1 , i see several references to users trying to remove it .
i have had to remove it from a comp that also had some other crapware (spy sheriff , etc etc) ... the owner dl'ed them trying to fix the problem caused by the smith/barney virus .
ps ... the tribal fusion problem cleared ... took about 10 minutes to load on each page .

Re: Site Malware
i get spyware and adware from every single site i go to now it seems like, i cant get rid of it. I use Zone alarm full scan and all the detection addons, along with ad-aware. It gets rid of it for the moment, but after a day its back. I know that myspace has alot the second you get on the site. All the internet related problems are getting out of control, who honestly wants to mess up someones computer, seems like a boring job

Re: Site Malware
One way to help reduce the problems you guys get is to never click on any ad that pop's up on your computer in the first place. Use Task Manager to shut them down. some of those X signs are just clever graphics and buttons with a send this comp more shi* link embedded in them. Zonealarm and Ad Aware and Spybot are only effective when updated daily or when the next lot of definitions come out.

Re: Site Malware
Yeah... If you've got them on your computer, Ad-Aware and ZA are your best bet, but as that didn't help, I'd reccomend backing up the programs and files you want to keep on your computer, and reformatting the hard drive. The problem is that some of the spyware that gets on your computer either hides itself, or manages to get itself put somewhere where antivirus programs can't touch it. (ZA usually can, but I guess not in this case).
Shame :P But yeah, as with many things, the best solution to adware is prevention.

Re: Site Malware
I used to get an aweful lot of tracking cookies, adware, etc, but I started using SpywareBlaster and now I only get the occasional tracking cookie. Of course it doesn't catch the cool stuff like worms, virus and trojans, but then the modern,"safe" computer uses half the hard drive for anti-stuff stuff.
