Re: Dan Brown

just a quickie to let you know about a book ive just read that may (or may not) be of interest to some of you that enjoyed the DaVinci Code.

I've just finished reading The Va Dinci Cod, its a short story that youll get through in a few hours... but its a cracking read.

Its very much a spoof book, like a written version of an airplane movie. Based on dan browns book (obviously), but it had me laughing from the first page onwards.

A toital change of direction from the books i normally read (Been reading a lot of Terry Goodkind latley), and like a breath of fresh air.

Re: Dan Brown

Read all of his books and I don't know what all the fuss about the religious content. When I bought the book it was in the fiction section of the bookstore. which to me says that it is fiction.

Angels and Demons and the da vinci code are the best two books that he has written but they are not brilliant. As for Deception point and Digital Fortress they are two of the worst books on the planet. They are just stupid.

Re: Dan Brown

I read Angels, Divinci, and Digital in that order and rank them that way as well. I haven't started Deception Point yet, I think because I noticed the same theme in all of the others too. I enjoyed them all but have just gone back to nonfiction for a while. I loved the movie too. I hope Angels and Demons will go to the big screen too. I thought Tom Hanks was an odd choice, maybe Harrison Ford, but then it would just be another Raiders.

Re: Dan Brown

I read Digital fortress first, then Angel & demons and waited a while to read Da vinci code (was waiting for paperback).
I liked all three, probably digital & Angels the most.
Definnetly preferred reading Da Vinci code b4 watching the movie. They lost some of the plot & mistery during the screenplay.
It happens with most book based movies I find. With the exception of David Lynch's Dune (descent screenplay based on part one of the three parts of book one of six, presently re-reading the series)

Re: Dan Brown

DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons are his two better ones. The one I did not like was Deception Point. His next book comes out next spring I think. It's going to be a Robert Landgon book that takes place after Davinci Code. It's going to focus on the Masons. Oh yeah, did anyone know that their turning Angels and Demons into a movie. It comes out December 08

Re: Dan Brown

as fast-paced and well-flowing as the da vinci code was, i was very disappointed with the movie. the book read like a movie, the movie was paced like a book. how did all the page-turning excitement get lost in translation?
