If anyone is trying a threesome please be sure your couple is mature and strong enough to last. *In my experience it seems that when a couple enters a relationship and brings others into it it usually end bad. Maybe not in the first year or even the second, but eventually it ends up destroying a relationship. I would think it has to do with what specifically in the relationship the couple values. Fidelity is a big one. That is why cheating is generally a death sentence (my understanding, long-time couples might stick together, but the trust will never recover).

If you are liberal enough to view sex as largely separate from other assets or values in a relationship, than you'd end up fine. But don't let lust blind you (or your spouse..) into falsely thinking you and your partner hold this perspective and sacrificing sexual monogamy, you will end up regretting that. Beyond high-school/college drunken one-night bullshit, I don't really have any experience with this kind of thing. I'm basically going off intuition and second-hand knowledge from experienced friends/family.

As a side note, consider that swingers clubs and vacation spots are a pretty big business, and they aren't all trashy and youth-oriented. They appeal to all kinds of couples, and perhaps that could offer some sort of insight into how this kind of thing works.

I am all about having a threesome with my fiancee, the trouble is, it's nearly impossible to find a willing woman to participate!
