Ok, I'm looking for a good but inexpensive webhosting provider that has pretty much a five 9's uptime (99.999%) running on Windohs with SQL server. Any suggestions?

Check out 1and1.com. I got a free hosting package with them for 3 years. It was a promo thing. They have been excellent so far with helping me setup my accounts and my clients. I believe they have SQL available on all their Windows packages.

Well, if you can get SQL Server running on a Linux box, I'm for it, but for now, mySQL isn't where it needs to be.

I'm not a 1and1 customer but their deals look second to none and I hear the company is huge. I use uplinkearth.com and I love them. Their support is excellent. They are not as cheap as 1&1 however.

i go through ripplehost.com. I have only seen my site down one in the 2 years I've been with them. I got in on a deal that was $4.99 the first year and $9.99 for each subsequent year. They have MySQL, PHP, etc. I think it was 400mb of space. not sure about the bandwidth though.

1and1.com seems expensive for what I need it to do, but that deal they were doing with the 3 years free would have been a steal!

Be careful with 1and1, I have an account there and they tend to do things in very restrictive ways unless you buy more from them. If you are a beginner, you should be fine. If you wanna do anything complex, I'd find another host.

If you really need Windows (ugh), I'd check fluidhosting.com, maximumasp.com, discountasp.com, or crystaltech.com

It's like $10 a month. I've been using them for like 3 years now and only have had about 2 days down time total if even that.
