New XBox 360 owner- What to buy first?

Yeah so since I started this I did pick up Gears of War, and I loved it, though it was too short, and that goddamn Corpser looked so damn cool, but went down like a prostitute with an overdue cable bill- pretty disappointing. I'm playing Crackdown at the moment but more suggestions are always welcome.

I bought Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 tonight, that's a pretty badass game. At the same time, I put down on the pre-order for the Legendary Edition of HALO 3, which is all 3 games in the same box, and the box is Master Chief's helmet, that supposedly you can wear. I also put down on a pre-order for Guitar Hero 2, which according to Game Stop in Searcy, AR will hit the streets April 3rd. The price for the game plus controller is $89. And I bought Call of Duty 3 last week.

Basically, just figure out what types of games you like, and start sorting through the games until you find one that you want to buy. I would really recommend getting XBOX Live first, and downloading some demo's, and see if you like the game before you go out and buy the game, then find out it sucks. As far as I know, all the 360 games have available demo's on XBOX Live.

OH...and if you like Gears of War, check out Lost Planet, badass game. I've been playing that a lot also.

Yo know, about the Legendary Edition of Halo 3, I was reading up on the helmet, and unfortunately it's not big enough to wear. It is, however, large enough to fit on a cat. Or that dude Beetlejuice who used to always be on Howard Stern.

Oh yeah I guess I should have clarified this in my first post- I already have a Gold Live subscription. I thought it was understood when I said that I was a Halo 2 whore. I guess some people might think that I'm still in love with playing the 1-player game. You can only kick Tartarus' ass so many times.

Dude, I got GRAW2 as well. I beat the fucker in like 8 hours. It's way short, I honestly thought I was about halfway through. Weak, though there's a lot more to the multiplayer than there was in the first one, still prefer rainbow 6 though.

Big Fuckin' on Elder Scrolls: Oblivion.

It is the largest rpg (besides shit like WOW and FF) and the continuous loading makes it only have a load screen maybe once an hour. And that depends on where you go. You could just say fuck it, I'm going into this forest. 5 hours later of no loading just adventuring, you finally come out on the other side. The game is huge, and the graphics are pretty good too.

I haven't played Oblivion on the 360, but I have it on the PC. It's great if you're looking for a game that you can play forever. I've probably gotten 60+ hours out of it and there's still more to do. I recommend some of the games that are a little older and have come down in price, try Fight Night, Test Drive, Tomb Raider, Gun. You can buy several of these and get way more play time than with a newer game like Crackdown which is still 60 bucks and only about 8 hours of play.
